As far as cover bands go, this was the best I've ever seen. Song choices were miserable. 30% was early stuff that's easy to play and they dragged them out. Wife cried at "Wish You Were Here."
The dude's voice was spot on. The main guy died 6 weeks ago and they had a spotlight on his guitar the whole time. Guy in the bathroom told me the bass player took on lead guitar when the guy died, but this guy sounded like he's been playing lead his whole life.Don't put that on me Ricky Bobby, don't you ever put that on me.

Just got home from the Tracy Lawrence / Clay Walker concert and it was very good. They played off each other like a duet and sounded great. There was one portion where they played 4 slow songs in a row which had me dozzing off but they redeemed it with the last 3-4 bits one of which was playing songs from various musical icons who have died recently.
Much better than Big & Rich.
Next is Whiskey Meyers followed by Kenny Chesney then Kid Rock and Trace Adkins. Going to be a good year."You know that little thing in your head that keeps you from saying things you shouldn't? Yeah, well, I don't have one of those."

Attended Whiskey Myers concert tonight, the opening act was The Read Southall Band and they were pretty damn good. Whiskey Myers came out and hit a home run, excellent concert & they played pretty much all hits and avoided the slow patches a lot of other groups end up playing.

I've never heard of either band?
Trying to decide on a country fest this summer, Jason Aldean who I like and Eric Church who my wife loves headlining. I can probably get cheap tickets through a radio station vendor I know (long story).
Still would end up being around 2 grand.
Worth it? I know we would both have a blast.Don't put that on me Ricky Bobby, don't you ever put that on me.

Erich Church is playing at Miller Park in a few weeks, I think they are a hard sell because now you can get tickets for $29. I personally don't care for him so will not be attending.
Did get tickets for LOCASH who are headlining some local music festival and then got Toby Keith tickets for opening day at the state fair. One i'm excited about is Airbourne at a small club in Chicago, they are touring Europe right now & I had tickets to see them 2 years but then Rona popped up and everything got fukked. The lead singer Joel could be the reincarnation of Bon Scott and then band states AC/DC was their inspiration.

For $29 you're not going to be seeing much of him as you would be a quarter mile away. We saw him last fall 5 rows back and the tickets were around $300 each.
He's my Wife's current favorite. As a 30+ year guitar player I really appreciate the stuff he can do with 3 chords, I'll never get close to that talent.
That said, I only really care for "Mr. Misunderstood" and "Put a Drink in my Hand." He writes 99% of what he plays but 99% of that I can't really get into.
He sang some song about boots and everyone was throwing their cowboy boots on stage, kinda weird.Don't put that on me Ricky Bobby, don't you ever put that on me.

I damn near got my plane ticket to go visit a friend for that tour on the same day they canceled. I'm a huge fan of Dahlia, and to a lesser extent Hatebreed, and have thankfully seen seen both enough for a lifetime so it's easier to swallow. I've only seen Parkway once but they were awesome, and I was certainly looking forward to this kickass tour package.

Just got back from Bryan Adams - short clip with my phone camera:
I liked 3 or 4 of the older songs, but other than that it isn't really my thing so left a little early. Good to get out again though.
Picked up a ticket for some classical music in a month or so:
Spring Concert - Gothenburg Symphony Orchestra, Daniela Musca conductor, Isata Kanneh-Mason piano

I don't really care for much after Binaural (2000). Some songs here and there but I can't listen to entire albums after that.
Ten is still my favorite of course. Still love Vs and Vitalogy, lot of bangers. But honestly my second favorite album of their is No Code (1996). It was their first album post grunge that really showed their change in music styling and they pulled it off well. Definitely more punk, folk, classic rock sounding. All around complete album.Age: 42

Picked up Anthrax/Black Label Society/Hatebreed tickets for my son and I for August. I've seen BLS countless times, hate Anthrax, and Hatebreed isn't on this stop in the tour for some reason (I like them a lot), so this is all really just for BLS.
Next week: Gatecreeper headliner show! Can't wait. Going to skip Inferi/Archspire/Entheos next week due to scheduling conflicts w/my son's stuff. Sucks because I was going to bring him to that as it's a weekend show. Ah well, next time!Lifting. Hockey. Headbanging.

Kenny Chesney was a good concert and we both enjoyed it, however Kid Rock blew it outta the arena as he just flat out kicked ass. Jason Bonham opened up with his Led Zepplin Experience & they were very good, then Kid came out and blew the roof off. His set was great and utilized smoke, fire, pyrotechnics, lasers, etc....fuk he even had 2 stripper poles with chicks dancing on them. He played for almost 2 solid hours and he was actually losing his voice by the end of it. If you get a chance to attend one of his shows, do it.

Went to Halmstad for 3 nights and an Alphaville concert at Hotel Tylösand (owned by Per Gessle of Roxette). Made friends with a cool dude (no homer) and hockey trainer so we stayed for the night club afterwards – been years since hitting the dancefloor, lol. A younger, fine looking woman hit on me a few times (to my surprise - looking like **** atm), but I must be getting old and was so tired I didn't even care. Anyways, had a good time and took some pictures around town as well.
2 Pics from the city of Halmstad – put more (14) in the O35 Photo thread:

Picked up tickets for my son and I for Amon Amarth, with Carcass, Obituary (will be his 1st repeat live band experience), and Cattle Decapitation in November, and just saw a tour release for GWAR with Nekrogoblikon (and Light The Torch and Crobot) in support. First 2 are the reason we'll attend. He's 8 next week and feels at home at metal shows already, but GWAR ought to be quite the experience for him - LOL
