Damn i love this thread. Pretty much everything you guys said. Some of those bands i really cant stand anymore but they were perfect for when they got popular. Its wierd how in a moment a band at its peak can be awesome then they go on to have bad albums, sell out and act chitty and you dont see them the same.

In their prime though fuarrrk.. Metallica black album was fuking incredible could listen to it beginning to end. That was back when Greenday was legit now theyre just a bunch of angry multimillionaires trying to replicate that raw angst but failing. But in those years in the 90s holy chit a lot of bands were just raw passionate energy. I think everyone had pearl jam ten. Jeremy was ahead of its time. A lot of jeremys in the news lately.

I listened to everything in the 90s, country, classic rock, grunge rock, rap and r&b. And I still do.

    From Wikipedia
The song's lyrics, filled with colorful, dream-like imagery, lead some to believe that it is about drugs. According to the drug theory, the "flying spoon" was a reference to a c*caine or her*in spoon, and the crazy animal images were an acid trip. Fogerty, however, has stated in interviews that the song was actually written for his then three-year-old son, Josh. Fogerty has also said that the reference to a parade passing by was inspired by the Dr. Seuss book And to Think That I Saw It on Mulberry Street.[2]

Country singer Buck Owens is mentioned in the song, and the music reflects some of the Bakersfield sound Owens made famous
