My first experience with the height craze started when I started to misc. Until that point, I never once actively thought about my, or anyone else's height in social situations.
I assumed it was just one of those crazy insecurities miscers love adopting.
But a few years later when dating apps started getting big, i start seeing more threads about height being a killer, and tweets and such about short guys being worthless.
Now there's that Tinder verification thing that may or may not be a badly timed April Fool's joke.
When did height go from something no one really thought about, to something people obsess over?

What? When I was a little kid, other kids would constantly brag/lie about their height.
I was always taller than average so my cousins would often ask me when I got a growth spurt thinking they were due a growth spurt lmao.
One cousin would lie constantly about being 6 foot - even though I wasn't even 5'11" at the time (age 15/16) yet was way taller than him. Always made me lul. He had NFL dreams, now drives a tow truck @ 5'11" lmao. *******Spoiler alert; you die at the end.

Fellow 5' 9"er here and I never thought it was a big deal either. I think "average" height brahs miss out on the aspects of height that are painfully obvious to those at the further reaches of being tall or short.
It's always been a desirable trait though, just think back to that Spongebob episode where he wants to become tall, dark, and handsome....Green Tea Crew

this. Never personally cared about height or even thought about it until the misc but thinking back it's always been a huge thing societally and I can understand how someone can obsess over it even without the misc.
Brb parents insult children by comparing each other's heights, talk about how the younger sibling is getting taller.
brb in school after recess make you line up from tallest to shortest, which according to some black pill sub, is apparently establishing hierarchy in society smh
brb first day after summer in elementary school the first things teachers who recognize students say "oh my Jackson, you grew quite a bit taller haven't you? And oh hey Michael, you still look like the good old little Michael :') (Michael never recovered from that I imagine)" it's always that way before "how was your summer?"
brb basketball in recess, the one 6'4 kid in grade 5 just mogs everyone. brb tell him he can't play anymore.
brb bullies in elementary school usually taller than the kids they bully.
also ever since I grew an inch and a half about 30% of my close friends/acquaintatnces have commented on it, so it obviously makes a difference in perception. Maybe 1/10 friends notice that I got a haircut though even though I think that's more evident lolVoices NEGGED without fear of being opinion crew

We may be too tall to feel the negative aspects of it. I know taller is usually seen as better, but I've never seen it be this huge deterrent to pussy. I grew up seeing guys shorter than me with cute girls, so I wasn't even sure the misc was srs when I started reading some threads.

you just were not paying attention to it until the misc
in grade school when one of the brahs shoots up to 6' and all sloots start crushing on him
high school drops nagasaki black pill about it, all girls want tall
tinder dropped hiroshima black pill with it outright saying no manlets
misc just made you spit out blue pill
overall tho, height became an even bigger in-your-face issue as soon as feminism basically reduced man to just his genes.(__Y__) Misc Buck Breaker (__Y__)

Never thought about height either until misc... never even really knew about receding hairlines either, I mean I wouldn't look at a guy and see his receding hairline and be like "yeah that's a receding hairline"
Back before the height thing, I used to look at swole manlets in the gym and wish I was a swole little manlet lolFak U say? Cheeky kent ya, i'll fakin fak ya, ya lil sloot

For me definitely since the misc, hadn't even given it a second thought prior to this. I remember becoming paranoid about it back when I used to lurk in 2012-13 ish. Doesn't bother me at all now though. I mean... if I was given the chance to be 6'2, would I take it? Probably. But, I'm quite happy being 5'10/11
