So I decided to buy a mag grip just to see what the hype was. I purchased the medium neutral grip. Gave it a few sets today on my lat pull down. Now admittedly I didn’t work it hard as I was at the end of another workout but to be honest it felt ok but I wasn’t in more at how quickly my last were blowing up and how much I could feel it etc. I’ve got a really old beaten up neutral grip home made bar and i didn’t feel that much difference.
I will give it a proper road test on my next back workout and use heavier weight but so far For the money I’ve paid I’m a bit meh
So others thoughts good and bad please

Takes some getting used to. Medium Sup and Wide are my favorites. No regrets at all and love the feel once you spend some time. Med Sup is so unique everyone loves it at first. Wide took a bit of time but no going back ever. Narrows I own both neutral and sup. Not good for cable rows but ok for pulldowns except that I use the previously mentioned.

I know right. I hung them up on my wall rack like you are supposed to. Maybe I’ll just pick up the soloflex I’ve been eyeing on CL and see if that works.
I had medium prone but my arm was hurting, brachialis tendon I think. Bought the medium supinate which is also very good and no pain.I quote with pics. ()---() York Barbell Club #78 (DD) ()---()

I have the Mag wide and medium supinate and use them both regularly. I don't have any of the other Mag handles so can't compare. I do have the Prime Ro-t8 14" and 8"(?). The 14" Prime set to supinate is maybe 3" narrower than the Mag medium and the Mag is just much more comfortable; feels like you get a straighter pull. At present I never use the Prime handles for pulldowns.
I should have said 'I feel like I get a straighter pull'. Someone with narrower shoulders might like the Prime. A person with wider shoulders might prefer the Prime 20" handle.Last edited by oldred; 03-29-2019 at 07:35 AM. Reason: add a comment

Mag grips are my favorite back building tool. They are not a magic thing but they feel really good in hands, the finish is great and with these you dont need any straps or gloves, the grip is just strong and stable. When i have bought these the prime adjustable ones were not released yet, if they were at this time i would have bought these instead of the mag. But i am still really happy with my purchase and would not sell these in the future.

Which is why I put a ? Mark in the title not a statement so I could gauge others opinions and said admittedly I’ve only given it a bit of a play so that’s why I said it felt ok but not blown away straight away. I never said this is my review of the item. I e used enough pieces of gym kit over the last 25 years to know when something does feel great straight away and when something is not bad and when a piece of kit is crap in my own opinion. I’m glad your happy with your mag grip and I will certainly give it several runs before I make an absolute assessment though. Thanks

These things are subjective, the MAG's may not be for you. I have all 7handles, as I said in my earlier post the 2 neutral handles are my least favourite, in particular the narrow version.
IMO the medium neutral works much better for cable rows than for lat pulldowns.
My recommendation is to stick with it, at first I really didn't take to the wide grip handle, it just took a little time to adapt.

I purchased 5 of the 7. Didnt get the narrow sup or pro. Out of the 5 the wide grip, medium supinate, and medium pronate are my favorites. I am able to pull longer and harder without getting hand fatiguee/straps. They deffiently feel much more natural than a bar now. It sucks going to the box store gym and using the regular bars now that i have been spolied.

I have the medium supinate and love it. It gets used for the majority of my back work, and the wide grip is on my short list of items to buy. I purchased the medium supinate because of the reviews in this forum.
Out of all of their handles, I've read very little about their neutral handles. Part of your issue may be that you purchased one of the MAG handles that very few people ever recommend.STAND TALL AND SHAKE THE HEAVENS!!

I have the medium neutral as well as the above mentioned and it's not bad, but just ok in my opinion...you can basically just hit the back better with the pronate and supinate, in fact I prefer Dean's fat grip attachment with 3" globes on the sides for a neutral grip pulldown attachment over the neutral MAG grip since it technically has to be used as a palm open type neutral grip to utilize during pulldowns and gives a much better upper back contraction during the movement.

The wide didn't wow me at first and from this thread I see I wasn't alone. I actually got it to save 10" of width vs a normal lat bar and have my H/L pulley closer to the wall. Not sure what happened but over time I think I learned the proper pull for it and now it hits my back perfectly. Love the damn thing. I view it as more a traditional pulldown for width than the medium sup but I use both all the time. Invest some time...you will love it.

MAGs are easily my favorite attachments for back. I can see where some people it might take awhile to get the feeling, but they clicked with me from the first workout. Better contractions, less grip issues, more weight, and more reps.
