https://thehill.com/homenews/morning...morning-reportWith special counsel Robert Mueller's investigation in the rear view mirror in the eyes of President Trump, he turned his attention to a new-old topic du jour: health care, an issue that has plagued him and the GOP throughout his presidency.
As Alexander Bolton writes, a giddy Trump showed up on Capitol Hill on Tuesday fresh off 48 hours of football spiking after Mueller's probe turned up no evidence of collusion or coordination with Russia and declined to indict over obstruction of justice.
While the president mentioned the probe — telling GOP senators it was a "hoax" and declaring that he has been given a "clean bill of health," according to one member — he revived the subject of health care a day after the Department of Justice escalated a court battle over the Affordable Care Act.
It was a clear attempt by the president to leverage a sense of vindication in one arena to springboard to different terrain that left him frustrated.

Didn't a judge already declare the individual mandate unconstitutional?
Edit...
Dec. 14, 2018
WASHINGTON — A federal judge in Texas struck down the entire Affordable Care Act on Friday on the grounds that its mandate requiring people to buy health insurance is unconstitutional and the rest of the law cannot stand without it.Official Supp. Misc Beer Crew

Sorry to interrupt your NYPat bashing but are you Trumpers ok with this?
The campaign promise was to repeal and replace. But just like Mexico paying for the wall, now it's just repeal. And didn't Reps during the midterms swear they weren't going to get rid of protections for people with pre-existing conditions?

Its a complicated issue and I don't really care if its smart politically, I just want to relieve the American people of the burden of healthcare costs. I think it would take a team of economists to do it, but some ideas are keeping the uninsurable/high cost people in a government subsidized healthcare system, but increase competition for your average person, regulate hospital and pharm costs, tort reform on medical malpractice, etc. I don't think that is either a republican or democrat sounding solution, but a combination of both. Also what HAS to be addressed is people using the emergency room as their primary care doctor.

Well, considering every Republican candidate vowed to replace it during the election and a Republican candidate won, I’d say it’s probably a good idea.
Though I would like to see Trump offer single payer in exchange for a fully funded border wall, mandatory e-verify, the deportation of all illegals (including the DACA ingrates), and the elimination of chain migration and birth right citizenship. Just to see all of the leftists heads explode.Of all tyrannies a tyranny sincerely exercised for the good of its victims may be the most oppressive. -C.S. Lewis
