If you truly believe moderators are only here to censor and power trip, you should probably talk to an admin about that. I'm sure they'd like to know, with supported evidence. I've usually found that taking problems, evidence, and solutions to decision-makers is the best way to change things.

The funny thing is, two of the most radically moderated subsections on reddit are very conservative leaning.

R/protectandserve which is reddit's LEO subsection and r/the Donald are so radically regulated that at one time you had to get a request from a mod in order to post there. You couldnt be a brand new member because they would base you qualifications on how you post in other subsections. Once youre in, any form of criticism whatsoever even if its tongue and cheek will get you "downvoted" to oblivion (their version of negged) reported and outright permabanned....not even a temporary ban, permanent, even for first time offenses.

I'd say reddit is a better litmus test for the OPs claim since they are the larger community.

I'm a registered Republican, I hold mostly conservative views. But even here on this clearly right winged section of the forum, I'm constantly called a liberal.
People simply don't know, or don't care about what they are talking about. The Republican party gave us freed slaves via Lincoln, the republican party made discrimination illegal. The right wing of the United states is the Republican party.
But...
Nazi propaganda, white supremacy BS, segregation crap will go unreported for sometimes days. Literally the things the right wing (R) has made illegal goes unreported in a right wing majority area.
Now...
What gets reported? "Trolling", also known as (a person disagreeing with the R&P hive) "trolling" (they dare disagree with the flock)......and the squeaky wheel gets the oil.

So, "right wing" is not segregation, or bigotry. Both of those were made illegal by the right wing, and the "Republicans" on this forum really need to take a hard look at who the accept into their fold, and should feel ashamed for what they tolerate.

IME leftists/liberals tend to leave places like that, whereas right wingers are more likely to tolerate and stick around. Liberals/leftists are less likely to find things like that funny or tolerable.

The idea that the only reason is because leftists can't counter the memes or rhetoric, IMO leaves out something universally known, that leftists/liberals don't tolerate racism towards non-whites. And so if they see it rampant on forums (like /pol/) they'll just leave, rather than try to 'engage' with racist memes or racist rhetoric.

I'm guessing most liberals/leftists would leave in disgust, if that kind of thing was tolerated, but a lot of right wingers (evidently) stick around.
