Great job! Putting in the time and sacrifice to get on the stage is impressive.

Thanks very much, I have done a lot of Bodybuilding comps and I prefere them but the good thing about this comp is it is local and you get doing nearly all the bodybuilding poses, I would not be so keen to do a Physique Class in some federations were you are not allowed to do any bodybuilding poses at all.

Congrats! Just a very curious question as I have never seen this kind of competition before and I know it will sound stupid but do you lift weights for this kind of competition? Or can you just get by with body weight exercises, like pullups, push ups?
I know a few guys who only do body weight exercise and have done well with gaining mass just from that, and sculpting very good physiques.Last edited by adamgentile; 03-14-2019 at 10:00 AM.

I have been lifting weights for 30 years and generally lift pretty heavy for me, in and around the 6 reps mark with as heavy a weight as I can in my heaviest set, I have yet to meet anyone at these shows that do not train with weights but I have seen guys on youtube doing bar work like pull ups and dips and such like who could easily compete.

Great job man!!
Us old guys gotta stick together! Funny, we are on a very close schedule. I have a show in 2 days (first of the year), another 4 weeks after that, I turn 50 in June, then I'll go into o50 BB'ing in Sept.
I'm actually looking forward to turning 50 as then I'll be the young buck in my classes!!
I hope to wreak havoc in the o50's!
Keep up the work!2017 OCB Men's Physique Open 4th place

The rest of us talk about this sh*t every day...you guys actually DO it. The thought of seeing a head to head of a bunch of guys you actually (sorta) “know” who you see pics of over the years as they progress is fun. Like those old high school pose downs in the gym or the golds gym glory days.
Hell, Bodyhard called me out to “pose” agains Brando once. Ha ha

Thank you man; on spread
I don't think I'll do classic again as it's really not my interest and I don't have a good classic look/flow; plus that category has it's own completely different posing requirements that I just can't get down.
I think I'm going to go back and forth with Mens Physique and BB'ing. I know, very different categories altogether but I feel I do well in physique as I'm a small guy with more of that look; but I enjoy the posing and everything about BB'ing too.2017 OCB Men's Physique Open 4th place
