Everywhere I look, even on this forum, people are saying that soy has no downsides. However I've noticed that when I eat soybeans I lose my mojo the next day, no sex drive and erectile dysfunction. I've even noticed this to a lesser extent simply by eating products with soy lecithin, which is why I avoid it like the plague and only buy whey protein that uses sunflower lecithin. Do I just have some extremely rare hypersensitivity to soy? Because it seems like I'm the only one.

Hello dusky,
Soy foods such as edamame which contain phytoestrogens (plant estrogens) that disrupt the balance of testosterone and estrogen. Based on my exeperience i would like to suggest eating more than 25 grams of soy per day is not recommended.
Thank you.

I had no idea soy could affect one like this. I don't know if I believe it."I can see clothes of silk, if materials that do not hide the body, nor even one's decency, can be called clothes ... Wretched flocks of maids labor so that the adulteress may be visible through her thin dress, so that her husband has no more acquaintance than any outsider or foreigner with is his wife's body." - Seneca the Younger starting the misc tradition of moral outrage and pearl clutching instead of lifting.

There's so many back and forth studies regarding this, who knows the truth anymore. Just like eggs, are they good or bad, they seem to change the answer every few years.1. Married crew * Left handed crew * Poetry crew * Always pick 4 crew * D&D crew * No cellphone crew

a meta-analysis of 15 RCTs reported that soy supplementation had no significant effect on total testosterone, free testosterone, or sex-hormone binding globulinReasonable intakes of soy foods and soy isoflavones do not affect men’s testosterone levels, estrogen levels, or fertility, although case reports have documented adverse effects from incredibly high daily intakes of soy for 6–12 months

So in other words, yes soy does reduce erectile quality and sex drive in men due to phytoestrogens.
And maybe some people are more sensitive to it than others just like with all substances, so mild amounts can have significant negative effects? Holy fvk your mind must be blown right now.
