didn't go bad for me as i'm enjoying the content...actually so overwhelmed by the content...they definitely nailed that part.
but i called it lol. cause i played all their games. witcher 1 was so clunky, witcher 2 was awesome, and then witcher 3 they tried to do something different which was a horrible launch period cause of the optimization issues and bugs. i think most people didn't play the witcher 3 at launch cause the witcher 2 and 1 weren't that popular. idk anyone that played the witcher 2 before the witcher 3 was released tbhThere is only one Hell: the one we live in now.

Witcher 3 was an incredible experience on base ps4 ..... Granted I took 3-4 months finish the game, but it still ran really great, only had a few side quests bug out on me, but overall it was pretty polished and everything worked like it was supposed to. Even despite the ps4 performance, the overall storytelling/narrative/character development was far ahead of what cyberpunk is trying to achieve. It's probably far more of a complete game, in the sense while it definitely had to scale back, the effects of it was far less visible and obvious than with whatever cyberpunk is trying to do.Sig line can't be a novel

I'll wait until ps4's aren't crashing after cutscenes and whatnot. That sorta stuff would make me rage super hard. I'll take some time and play something else before I come back to this game.
Will either go Red Dead or Tsushima next.▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬ஜ۩۞۩ஜ▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬

Yeah over-hype can never be satisfied by the end product, we know nothing about GTA 6 but there's still tons of hype building, imagine if rockstar did this kind of 5+ year long tease campaign
I didn't pay any attention to the cyberpunk stuff until the past few months so I wasn't that hyped coming in, I'm enjoying the game overall. The AI is definitely lacking, I wonder if that's a very cost-intensive process and cdpr just didn't have the monetary clout of a Rockstar type dev to produce something good on this kind of massive open world scale.**MFC**

Also in this boat. Best game since GoW 2018 id say. Though I still have many hours left to play. Having a lot of fun. Not to trigger people who are hating on it, just saying I’m having fun. (Pc, obv)
I wasn’t paying as much attention to this kinda thing in 2015, but apparently the Witcher 3 had a similar launch? Is this true? I played on regular Xbox at the time and loved it. But since then I’ve played it on a Pro, one X and a 2080ti for a couple hundred hours total. So not sure if my original memories have just been replaced by now or what.Last edited by Elvis.Costello; 12-13-2020 at 09:06 AM.

More like mismanagement , aiming too high, releasing too many hype videos and gameplay videos without a clear vision.
CDPR is one of the most recognized and celebrated "assets" in Poland, with them being grants/subsidies by the Poland government and even fkkn Obama being given a copy of the Witcher 2 by the Polish President. Basically they are an extremely talented studio but got waaaay too far ahead of themselves in trying to create an open world like GTA and marketing a world like GTA.
They came at the king and got absolutely mogged.
Nobody beats Rockstar when it comes to creating "living, breathing" open worlds. Rockstar only releases videos/info about their next gen about max 2 years out of from release, more than enough time for them to have most of their in-game systems working and established before putting it in QA and then just fine tuning it for release.
CDPR meanwhile blew their entire load in 2013 or 2015, brb releasing a teaser for this game in 2013 and then talking about how amazing the game was gonna be ... As the years progressed, they just kept hyping it even more with their marketing material, fooling everyone and outright lying about the game and how it was gonna perform. They also ended up cutting a ton of stuff and had to scale down a ton of gameplay features which they promised, and finally had to force multiple delays even after the game went gold.
In essence, CDPR is a studio boomiing with talent, but bigly mismanaged and at the very worst, you can call them absolute hacks for releasing a game that took 8 years to make in such a horrible state especially for console gamers despite the ceo saying "peforms very well on current gen consoles".
Basically, Larian Studios are the absolute goats in the gaming industry, probably followed by Arkane, Naughty Dog, Rockstar, Santa Monica and perhaps even Insomniac.Sig line can't be a novel

Has nothing to do with money and talent. CDPR hasn't been in the game nowhere near long enough to develop perfect open world games. How long has Rockstar been doing this? And FYI GTA has never felt lively at all. The npcs were....just there. Red Dead Redemption 2 is what broke the ground. It was truly innovative and is the 1st and only open world game where **** really feels alive, like you feel bad fuking with the npc
I was positive CDPR would beat out Rockstar in open world games, but I was wrong. Rockstar is still king. No other open world game feels more lively than Red Dead Redemption 2 and it's all because of the NPC. CDPR has the talent, the just didn't have the experience

I definitely do get GTA vibes from this game now that I’m levelling up and getting more access to chit. Right now I’m spending a lot of time driving around taking care of gigs and side missions, feels very much like GTA but with a metric tonne more depth
Snagged a rocket arm mod last night, next I want to grab one of the leg upgrades for double jumping / super jump

Since there's so many comparisons to Rockstar's GTA and RDR, sounds like people ITT just wanted a sandbox game instead of a mission driven one. Basically, you wanted future GTA but you got future Witcher 3.
For example, seeing a lot of criticism about the AI. Much of it is valid no doubt about it. They are braindead, lacking reactivity, and downright boring when doing anything sandbox related. But go look at the AI in Witcher 3 and it's exactly the same thing.
I think the difference is that it worked in Witcher 3, for both narrative and gameplay reasons, but it doesn't really work that well in Night City. In W3, you're just out hunting monsters in the countryside most of the game so you don't see the braindeadness of the AI. CP2077, you're driving past AI NPCs and interacting with them practically 24/7 so you see how stupid they are. The result is that it breaks the immersion of the city. It was a risk and it didn't pay off imo.
I do think there were a lot of things cut from this game. The lifestyle stories at the beginning of the game being the obvious one. I feel like each lifestyle had its own unique story, but for whatever reason, maybe lack of resources or time idk, they were removed. That montage at the beginning of the game felt so out of place. My guess is that those were cut missions from the early stories.
I still am really enjoying this game. Played it basically all weekend. You can really see the love they put into the game whenever you do one of the story missions and that's definitely where this game shines. Side missions are hit or miss for me. Some of them are basically their own stories and work really well. Others are just go hear and blast a gangbanger, kind of boring, but I'm just doing them for the eddies anyway.
Best game in the world? Nah. Still really damn good and I'm loving it.FL IS THE GOAT STATE CREW

GTA V was incredible considering the stuff that were doing on old ass PS3/360 cpu's and gpus. Remember this was a ps3/360 gen game .... before only just being remastered for ps4/xbone
You could follow NPC's around and if you were Franklin, they'd call the cops on you.
If you tried to jack a car, they'd sometimes come out and fight you or chase you or call the cops, a mixture of all 3 states or it was random.
Cops would chase you properly
Ambulances, cops, fire trucks, depending on the situation would all come in or either of them
They'd comment on what you were wearing or what you were driving
npc's would get into fights with each other, with the cops or with whoever if they pissed each other off.
Yes, RDR 2 took it even furthe, but the point is, Rockstar have been the masters of creating AI systems within an open world that's both reactive to you and towards each other.Sig line can't be a novel
