Aside from Switch 2, which we already have a very good idea of what to expect.
I expect:
-much better upscaling, likely ai driven (native 4K still won’t be standard, but it likely won’t matter)
-much better ray tracing
-smaller raw gpu performance jump, like we are probably going to see with ps5 pro
-hopefully double the ram

Are we talking about the pro consoles? Or the XSX2 and PS6?
Honestly just wish the gaming consoles switched to NVIDIA GPU, keeping AMD for the CPU + MOBO. Also hoping we see 32GB RAM, since historically it just gets split between GPU's VRAM and the typical OS/system. The current 16GB total RAM only allows about 10GB for the GPU VRAM. If you're hoping for native 4K and upscaled 8k we really gotta catch up to the 20GB+ VRAM standard. But, no one wants $1k+ consoles, and there's no news about NVIDIA doing anything with consoles so probably not gonna get DLSS or other NVIDIA features.
XSX has about 12 TFLOPs. It came out just before RTX 30 launched. 2080 has 10 TFLOPs. 3080 has 30 TFLOPs. 4080 has 48 TFLOPs. Probably not unwise to presume 40+ TFLOPs for the next one out.i7-14700k

In that case, since next gen would be further away from now than pro, possibly TFLOPs closer to what a RTX 5080 ends up being (100+ TFLOPs, since 4090 is already 82 TFLOPs and historically next-gen '80 is well ahead of previous-gen '90 and '80 ti in TFLOPs). That much TFLOPs, and with 26-32 GB RAM (18-24 GB for VRAM), it'll probably be good enough for just that, 4k native AAA and 8k upscaled AAA.

@Sony:
Greater focus on performance modes
Greater focus on AI upscaling
Greater focus on raytracing
Playstation will gain a massive lead over Xbox due to data gained from PS5 pro via PSSR/Machine learning.
Next gen may be the last for Xbox as a hardware platform. They will focus on being a publisher.
3 years after launch, PCcels are gonna start the usual braindead analysis that a $500 PS6 from 2028 isn't as impressive as a $5000 PC from 2031. We will all be shocked by said revelation.
Steam Deck 2 will be awesome and I'm getting one.▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬ஜ۩۞۩ஜ▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬

Fuk 8K
Maintain 1440p-4k as gold standard - Preferably 1440P. We dont need native 4k let alone fkkin 8K.
Better AI upscaler, probably from platform owner side than relying on the chip manufacturer - In fact, concentrate on this the most because hitting native resolutions is too taxing.
Better CPU and double the Ram.Sig line can't be a novel

Yeah well, to me graphics arent end all be all.Im just fine with the graphics now. I still play games from the 90s and sometimes 80s. What pisses me off is people got me feeling im missing out on on my PS5 i just bought last year and need to buy a pro. Your fooling yourself if you really noticed a huge difference between PS4 and PS4Pro. Dont give a fuk what you say

I didn't get the PS4 pro so I can't comment on that but I can most definitely notice a difference in the image quality between PS5's performance and resolution mode. I play a few feet away from a 77" TV so no doubt that makes it clearer to me. If the PS5 pro can get me performance mode frame rate but make the image quality look like resolution mode I consider that a win. It's frankly the only thing I want or expect for the next 4 years, I don't want anything revolutionary.

My bad. i misunderstood. I agree. The way things are looking the PS6 wont be anything special and i sure as fuk dont want a PS6Pro. Just pissed off that the PS5Pro is gonna be similar priced as PS5 Disk. I would of waited myself. Pissed off all around with this chit.
Im not complaining about games though. It could be better but games are still pretty decent. Instead of 20 good games a year like we were getting in the 90s and 2000s we get about 5. And i dont need to play or pay for that many games a year anyway.my backlog is more than full
