I think it's best to remain cautiously optimistic on this one.
It's a pretty ambitious project, so I'm preparing myself for a feature or two to be cut from the game.
But it's one of my most highly anticipated titles this year. I'd rather have a delay than an unfinished game released."...Voidmayne...Creepin' up on ya..."

Be smart and wait.
It doesn't matter when you buy it. The whole "FIRST!" thing is dumb man. The game will always be there to buy and play.
They just announced first person only, so if that bothers you then there goes the game all together.
It has now made me less excited, personally.Biden 2020

There is almost no chance of Cyberpunk not living up to the hype. The amount of time, effort, and love that has gone into it from a tried and true developer who puts out GOATs near guarantees it to be GOTY. They even brought in the original 2077 creator to help get details right. These guys and FROMsoft are the only devs I have complete faith in.
That said, it's always smart not to preorder. Plus, CDPR isn't the type of company that riddles their games with in-game preorder bonuses (it's all physical chit like medallions or steelbooks), rip off DLCs, and microtransactions. You'll get the full game no matter when you buy, and a long expansion or two down the line. Wait for reviews if you like. They're going to be 9+ regardless (probably in the 94-95 range).

I work with a few guys that are pretty heavy into Playstation gaming. Never heard them talk about GoW or RDR2 with the hype and amd excitement they do about CP 2077.
Never seen so many companies so early on doing branded merchandise and items like CP2077. (Nvidia, Seagate, Xbox, others I can't even think of right off.)
Never seen a game sell out of $250 collectors edition pre orders in literally minutes after announcing in some countries.
List goes on and on. Lol
I think it's quite safe to say no game at least in the last 5 years has had this much hype/excitement/eyes on it.

EDIT: So much for "leak"
At least the confirms stealth as a viable playstyle (crouching behind chit, directional mic to eavesdrop on farther targets, radar tracking, stealth takedowns, hiding bodies, avoiding cameras, hacking, silenced weapons, etc...). Now I just need to see how alerts work. Hopefully its not one of those games where everyone knows where you are the second one douche spots you. There better be some communication.Last edited by AD117; 04-27-2020 at 04:06 PM.

Maybe I'm behind the curve then. That's the first time I've seen any video for this game showcase stealth, and I've definitely never seen the menus or that huge skill tree (not that I understood chit in that language).
EDIT: Yeah, you're right. That's apparently the behind closed doors demo. We see a few clips from that area in this deep dive video I skipped way back when (maybe I was trying to avoid spoilers or some chit). Nothing new. Here's better quality for anyone who hasn't seen this:

I would be less keen if it wasn't. The best shooters are usually the first person and it makes the world more immersive when you aren't constantly looking at somebody else.
Looking at Sci-Fi games you have Prey, Alien Isolation, Deus Ex, Bioshock, Doom, Fallout NV just to name a few in recent times.
I prefer it for slow play too, walking around looking at stuff and picking it up just works better in the first person. Read Dead Redemption 2 might be an extreme example but finding stuff and picking it up from shelves was pretty tedious in third person.

Im a full CDPR Stan so willing to trust them and to try the FPS. But definitely a bit of a risk for them I think. Hopefully still a lot of areas to see your character given the level of customization. Cut scenes etc. Regardless I’m beyond pumped for the game as a whole.

Check out how beautiful these screenshots I just took are in Witcher 3. 5 year old game, no mods, and still stunning AF. God damn dudes, CP2077 is going to look drop dead gorgeous running on an updated version of REDengine.
