Yeah I'd have opted for something smaller but this was as good as it gets for OLEDs at the time! The 48" probably does help you benefit from the 4k a bit more at least

God damn bro that looks seriously amazing, already looks insane on mine but can't imagine that. BRB buying 4k monitor. Don't have a 3090 but do have the 3080... Just wonder if it would run it well, lookin at reddit right now at people tweakin their settings to get good FPS so might buy a monitor today actually. Fuark... I know it could run it but the biggest question is will it be smooth. Cause if not it's not worth it.

tl;dr


-Witcher 3 developers and executives clashed often about CP2077's vision, CDPR ended up losing a lot of their Witcher 3 talent as a result
-Engine used in CP2077 was developed along in the game - "like trying to drive a train while the tracks are being laid in front of you"
-CDPR wasted months on making 2018 demo, which was largely window-dressing - many features shown were never coded to begin with
-Devs were crunching 12+ hours/day well ahead of the "final push" despite CDPR's promise of no mandatory OT
-Despite crunch, devs didn't think the game would be finished before 2022 and meme'd about when it would actually be released
-CDPR knew the game would run like **** on last-gen, but executives wanted to double-dip on consoles too badly; ignored concerns and told them to do whatever they did for Witcher 3
-CDPR ineffective at managing a larger team, quite a few problems between Polish and new foreign staff
-COVID-19 made testing more misleading as devs mostly played builds on their home PC's - but they had external tests that showed clear performance issues on last-gen

Got a few hours In on base PS4 (just past where Johnny silver hand starts appearing).

Graphics , bugs etc weren't too bad at first but now that I'm travelling around the city more it's starting run like chit.

The actual game itself (ignoring bugs, frameate drops) is really good just not really playable at the moment. Leaving it for a few months to be patched if it still runs bad then will just wait for next gen tbh.

How do you guys feel about being charged for upcoming expansions which will most likely include stuff that was cut out of the original release?

I personally don't feel as though they deserve any more of my money after the chit they pulled here, if the promised features and cut content are included in paid DLC's, and they do eventually release this multiplayer version with micro transactions.. I'm gunna have to write this company off as full EA tier.

Read into the newest articles and this is a chitfight guys... such a sad situation. Love certain elements of the game but yeah looks like CDPR management have no business holding the jobs/positions they do.

Very true. I made the mistake of holding CDPR to a higher standard and pre-ordering, usually single player games I just sail the seas for, for this very reason...

depend on the size of the expansion. if it's like blood and wine i'll buy it. easy buy.

this is true. so the cyberpunk 2077 is not that bad. dlc/expansions-wise, it would be better than 90% of pc games out there. like cities skylines and total war games have endless dlc ****. a lot of content that should've been in the base game

I feel positively about CDPR pulling this together and coming out with a much better product in the end, one that will make us happy to pay for more expansions. Not sure about multiplayer, I generally avoid multiplayer but would need to see what it would look like

Just rolled a new character to experience everything on the latest rig, chit just looks so good

Did you enable DLSS?

Yeah I tried DLSS and it produces a nice performance boost, but even the Quality setting had a (very) slight impact on visuals compared to native 4k IMO. This is totally smooth and responsive enough in native 4k for single player gaming, so I'm opting to not make that sacrifice even if it's only in the super fine details

lol I just added up the costs for this whole build... Closing in on $7k between the monitor and the tower, with the obscene GPU being almost half of that. Hopefully this thing lasts until like 2030
