    nutrition/calories on rest days??

    Hi

I will joining the gym next week but have a question

lets say i do 3 days a week, monday wednesday and friday and will eat the right amount such as 3000 calories, 120g protein (1g per lb of my bodyweight) and the right amount of carbs and fats too

do i have to eat the same on my rest days too??

protein yes because it will be necessary for the recovery and growth of my muscles, but do i need the 3000 calories on rest days when i will not be working out? i would end up putting on a lot of weight right

sorry if this is a basic questions but im a newbie

    Thanks

Some people cycle calories.. personally, I like to keep mine the same every day. It makes it easier for me to track and the biggest thing to make sure of is hitting your weekly calorie goal. If you find you are gaining too quick just cut back until you are satisfied..

Leave it the same, reason being is since you're just getting started, and are establishing your TDEE (+ surplus, since it sounds like you're bulking), you'll be repeating pretty much the same thing week after week (workout, work, etc), so things will even themselves out as you fine-tune your caloric intake to fit your needs (cut/maintenance/bulk).
