Gopher Performance has their Hexcel rackable bar for ~$340 shipped, otherwise the market for rackable bars with high handles is pretty barren until you start looking at the higher priced stuff.
I paid around $300ish for my Sorinex Diamond with added high handles (first they ever made) around 9 years ago, and it's still does everything these new trap bar designs are offering at a fraction of the price. I'm all for design innovation, but the design improvements on these trap bars don't warrant the added price, not even close.

I agree with that. I've never really found it to be that difficult to load/unload weight, and the open end doesn't do much for me. The only reason I'm even looking for a rackable bar is to make it easier to set up for pressing. Fairly low priority and hard to justify even a $400 bar.

I feel like there's a glut of very very marginally improved products or super niche products (Marrrrs bar) with monster price tags on them. I guess someone is buying this stuff or these companies wouldn't keep putting it out. I'm all for choice, but this isn't really innovation IMO...or maybe it small innovation that just doesn't warrant the price tags.

This thread got me thinking about using my trap bar again. It's a mediocre Xmark that maxes out at 400 lb. I'll rep that soon. Unless I really love using it, my next one might be this other cheap bar off amazon.

    https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07FCFSHSV..._A5cFCb1YJ83B4

Open design, good reviews, high weight rating, disposable price. Hard to justify Kabuki. Dead wedge makes loading plates easy enough.

I just sold my Hulkfit open trap bar. Didn't like the 25mm grips or how springy the frame felt.

Instagram has specs on their new "Kadillac" bar.

$399 is not "too bad" since it weighs 20kg and has normal sized sleeves.

That looks appealing, I like that it is bowed for some extra stretch and it seems pretty slim at 7" which is the same width as the Edge Slim FBall bar. Price is double but it also weights 14lbs more and is bowed. Now shipping would be the big question. I'm not in the market since I have the Edge slim FBall bar but if I was this is one that I would consider/.

Also, from the pics it looks like they have one with straight handles and one with angled which is nice

This is bar looks nice, along the lines of the trap bar which looks nice as well, but like the trap bar, I can't understand why anyone feels the need to pay such an upcharge for a marginally improved FB bar. From what I can tell by pictures, the only difference with this bar is the camber is gradual vs not gradual. To be honest, I'm not even certain that's a positive. I personally would prefer a set camber or no camber at all. The Duffalo Bar was a more unique offering, but the PB, Trap Bar, and now this one are just expensive and don't warrant their marginal improvements IMO.

I was considering purchasing a trap bar when I saw an ad for the new Eleiko. And then this one.

I considered waiting until Rogue or Titan came up with something similar for cheaper.

But the more I thought about it.....

I really just wanted a trap bar for deadlifts, and possibly farmers walks (as an alternative to the farmers walk handles that I already have). Although all the other stuff that one *can* do with an open trap bar sound good in theory...... eh.... I probably wouldn't use the trap bar for that kind of stuff anyway.

The truth is.... the built in deadlift jack sounds nifty, and it might take up less room in my already tight space, and it looks sexy; but I just need a trap bar for deadlifts, I'm *never* going to drop that much coin on one. And I was ready to purchase.

So I went with the Cap Mega. It's ugly. Packaging was a joke. It had a couple rust spots when I got it. Finish is some crappy gray paint that is rubbing off already.
BUT..... it was cheap, it is a BEAST, and I will likely never outgrow it. I'm 100% satisfied.

My son wants an open trap/hex bar, and I was looking at these:

    https://www.gronkfitnessproducts.com...c-hex-trap-bar

    And

    https://www.movestrongfit.com/shop/movestrong-dsl-bar

Any thoughts on which looks better if I don't need it to hold more than 350 lbs?

If Intek had a great black Friday sale, I'd love to get theirs, but otherwise, the two in the links seem like good options.

Movestrong used to make the original Intek open bar. It’s a quality bar. I like the angled handles.

I'd get the Move Strong bar just due to the center marks in the knurling.

I read your review on both of them, and understood that you thought the Intek is a little nicer, especially because it's rackable. I also understood you thought the Movestrong was the better of the two I'm looking at, so my response was only to say that I thought it was probably plenty good enough for me. Also wanted to point aout that shipping on the Movestrong is only $50 now so it totals $400. The Intek is now 50% more even without the roll bar that would let you use it for squats.

People will buy it...despite Duffin being a hack and quite the used car salesman, ...alot of powerlifers are wannabes and the name will be enough. Can't believe the number of people in pl now that actually believe that Duffin invented the Buffalo bar design despite it being like 25 years old. Not sure why a bar costs 200 to ship. Must be using the same model as sorinex. And He apparently doesn't take alot of care despite that cost ...as someone posted his bar was damaged on review and he basically blamed ups. Seems like he will do just about anything to make a buck. Im curious as to whether he is a real "engineer" or whether he is using that term quite loosley. About as silly as all these exercise science guys referring to themselves as Dr....cringe worthy.

Duffin claims he got some extra certificate or degree in engineering on some post but dont recall him mentioning what school...for somoene going out of their way to post that odd that they don't mention from where. Maybe I missed it and he got his degree from Cal Tech or MIT, but Im guessing its more like a mail in online degree..

Not sure why this bar hasn't been talked about more on these forums:https://www.vulcanstrength.com/Vulca...ar-p/v-oxb.htm.

I'm very interested in hearing if anyone has had a chance to see this bar up close. Has just about every feature I'd have interest in outside of adjustable handle height.

I’m a Duffin fan because of my Duffalo bar. Had the transformer bar, replaced my old crepsenek with it. Now I have another crepsenek.

As far as trap bars go I have an old Gerard trap bar I picked up for $20
http://www.trapbartraining.com/ No plans on spending money on a newer one.

I am eying up Duffins new football bar, only because I love the angle of the Duffalo for benching

I live 10 mins from them. I’ll definitely be checking it out. It’s a hybrid between Kabuki and Eleiko for less than $430 shipped.

I have the CAP Mega bar also, & my experience is the same. I went with the cheap 1 because I couldn’t decide between the various designs, having no experience with any of them. It has ugly fit & finish but it works, & good luck trying to bend it.

Yep, it really caught my eyes when I saw it, seemed like all the positives from the Eleiko and Kabuki combined. I wonder if they even have a prototype available right now? Says that they ship Dec 28. Contemplating getting it right now.

My son (17) has been asking for Trap bar for a while because that is what his trainer makes him use for DL. So was contemplating Kabuki one ( I will not buy Eleiko) or Intek one but this is really tempting . Currently $407 shipped plus rackable I have had vulcan's very aggressive power bar. It was nice . Will decide in a day or 2.
