Ok so I’m sure that this has been beaten to death but looking to buy a functional trainier. I want to be able to go heavy, at lest 200 lb dual stacks, smooth cable operation and made in U.S.A.. I have considered Cybex, Sorinex and Legend Fitness. Advice is appreciated!

You're correct, the functional trainer has been well analysed here on the forum.
I've never seen a Sorinex FT, I'm a big Legend fan and have 2 of their racks, but I didn't care for the Legend FT.
I have the Cybex Bravo and really like this unit, but the stacks max out a less than 200lb2 , to 1 pulley ratio, I think you get around 90lb at the handle. All the Cybex heavy stacks are 4 to 1 pulley ratio and all end up with around 90lb of resistance.
Personally I think this is sufficient on this type of unit, but I have a lat/low row with a 1 to 1 ratio and a 120kg stack for the heavier work.
Here's a link to a recent thread that may be of interest.

I just bought the Hoist Mi6 last week and love it. I added the additional add-on for total of 200lbs per stack.
The Mi7 also includes a smith machine that moves forward and back so you aren’t in just one plane of motion up and down. But it’s almost twice as much as the Mi6.Be a RockStar In Your Life... And Make The World Your Stage!

Well for starters, you don't have to drill holes in the frame and top plate and add rods for the bands. The pin adapters work on almost any weight stack without modification. Then, there's other advantages like adding up to 135lbs, knowing the exact weight that's being added, smooth consistent resistance throughout the motion, and the adapters themselves can also function as a fractional weight.

LOL. Nonsense. The adapter I linked, or a variation of it, can be used for weight plates. It also allows you to add your weight to the adapter and then increase or decrease it using the original pin. Try doing a drop set with a pin type adapter. Good luck.
Also, if you want to add bands, which is a whole different concept to adding weight, good luck doing that with a pin type adapter. Finally, drilling holes in a frame and adding band pins isn't a big deal.

Yea I missed the custom top plate that's only sold as part of $2500 Australian multi station gym. So now you need to design it for your stack/machine, and then get it custom fabricated
Other than that, it's a great idea and a terrific solution if you want to go through the trouble.
Or, you know, you could add weight to your stack by taking the pin adapter out of the shipping box, put it in your weight stack and workout.
Can't argue there. I personally don't need to add bands to a functional trainer/lat tower etc...
Wut? The original pin goes in the bottom of the stack and the pin adapter goes near the top with the additional plates. Otherwise you wouldn't be adding the whole stack + plates, which makes adding the additional plates pointless.
So for drop sets, you have room to move the original pin up at least 40% up the weight stack (worst case using 45s), plus you can just take the plates off as needed.
Where did I say it was a big deal? I just said you had to do it. Drilling high security safes like I used to do is a big deal.
