    Help me !!!

    Hey guys I’m new to this forum , my names Daniel im 16 years old and I go to the gym so I need to ask a few questions about problems I have going to the gym , so I do my workout like normal then afterwards I start to get very sore then it’s even worse the next day and it gets worse within 2-3 days after , it gets so bad that sometimes my arms randomly swell up and I can’t bend them , I do not take protein so that may be the reason why and I don’t eat meat only chicken , any suggestions to fix this constant pain , also should I start taking protein shakes to help repair my muscles ?

    Are you on an established workout program?
    Eat better (more) and rest/recover properly.
    Soreness (or DOMS) is completely normal too.

    Without knowing your routine it would be hard to pin down a direct cause. If you are BRAND new to lifting this isn't all that uncommon. Just make sure you are using good form and not overworking and you should be okay. You specifically mention your arms. If you are in the gym working 30+ sets of biceps for an hour, then you are overworking and you have a serious case of delayed onset muscle soreness (DOMS). Find a better, more balanced workout that results in a more comfortable level of sorness.

    In the end, remember, soreness is a just a sign that you have torn your muscles down, which is a must for them to grow back larger (hypertrophy). Soreness isn't a bad thing, just not as sore as you are describing.

    Also, a whey protein shake may help as well if taken within ~45 minutes post workout.

    You don't have to be Brand New to lifting for this to happen, and honestly its a very good sign that you are going hard in the gym!!

    I would make sure you are getting good nutrition, staying hydrated and getting lots of rest/sleep. Alot of the "Doms" Delayed Onset Muscle Soreness will start to go away if you stick with it, but if you add some new movements or go particularly hard one day they may still happen.

    At 16, I would hold off using any supplements.
