    My Body Recomp Journey

    Hi everyone,

I used to go to the gym lots around 10 years ago and built a good physique.

Since then, it went downhill. I went up to a fairly high weight as you can see in the pic so i wanted to recomp my body.

I started a diet but foolishly neglected doing ANY weight training. I also lost lots of muscle mass over the years by not retaining enough protein.

So my goal is to cut/bulk/cut/bulk to get me to where I want to be.

I am currently at 10 stone 8, but i feel i need to get down ALOT more untill i see my abs before i start a bulk. However, I feel very skinny/not much muscle definition and people are saying how skinny I look which is annoying as I still feel lots of fat around my stomach.

I have started to incorporate weight training now and making sure I have enough protein.

It has been a hard slog loosing the weight but I am doing well i think.

Do you think I should continue my cut even more or should I bulk a little bit to increase my size and then cut again. I feel so scrawny and have 0 definition!

Any thoughts would be appreciated! I am 28 but my profile says 49!

If it were me, I would focus on gaining muscle and progressing on your lifts. Unless extremely overweight, the most I ever advise is a very mild cut. Often times, people are so concerned with losing weight and seeing the scale drop that they neglect the muscle building part and just end up scrawny and worn down. Take is slow and you will be thankful in the end

    Thanks

Do you think I should eat slightly over maintenance or still focus on a mild slow cut?

That's tough. I would eat very slightly over to start and try to build some muscle. If you could put on 6-8 lbs in 4-6 months I think that would be about right
