Quick update...
So my business is really starting to do big numbers... I thought to myself... you only live once. Why not buy something that makes you happy. That puts a smile on your face. That motivates you to work harder. That leaves you with no option to fail.
So here I am really getting the urge to finance a ‘17 R8 for this summer. I really really really want to do this guys. The reason I’ll finance rather than lease is so I can sell the car if god forbid anything happens to my business. I’ll put a reasonable size down payment and a I’ll have a Beamer as trade-in just so I can kinda break even if I need to sell the car.
What do you guys think? I’ve found a couple beautiful R8s that are going for $160-$170k. I really want to do this. Fck guys.. I’m tempted.

I think you have a good mindset to enjoy life, but you better be real with yourself and be highly accurate in understanding your business and where it will be in 5-10 years so you don't **** up and make the wrong decision here. I agree that you should spend your money on things that make you happy... everybody dies, and nobody takes their money with them to the grave, so optimize your time spent in this life to maximize enjoyment and meaning (and if you've learned cars are something that satisfy your soul, as most of us here have, then spend what you deem a responsible amount towards cars). And don't let other people's rules dictate how you live your life - this is where a lot of people in society fail. This is more of a philosophical question that you will have to find the answer to, just don't **** up and lose all your money

I had that same mindset in 2012. Walked into a Nissan dealership with a cashiers check and walked out with a 2013 GTR. Had I waited a bit longer, I would have had one or two exotics by now. Don't really regret it as that car still puts a smile on my face every time I drive it, but I still think about the "what if's" if I had waited another few years.
