    Quick update...

So my business is really starting to do big numbers... I thought to myself... you only live once. Why not buy something that makes you happy. That puts a smile on your face. That motivates you to work harder. That leaves you with no option to fail.

So here I am really getting the urge to finance a ‘17 R8 for this summer. I really really really want to do this guys. The reason I’ll finance rather than lease is so I can sell the car if god forbid anything happens to my business. I’ll put a reasonable size down payment and a I’ll have a Beamer as trade-in just so I can kinda break even if I need to sell the car.

What do you guys think? I’ve found a couple beautiful R8s that are going for $160-$170k. I really want to do this. Fck guys.. I’m tempted.

Sure you can do is, if you:

    1) Make $250k+
    2) Have zero debt
    3) Have $250k+ in liquid

Otherwise, watch some Dave Ramsey and Gary V.

    this.

OP, you know what good entrepeneurs who eventually become billionaires do?

They drive cheap cars, wear regular cheap clothes, and REINVEST everything BACK INTO their BUSINESS.

Then forget about a poverty r8, you can splurge on a Bugatti, Ferrari, Aston.

I think you have a good mindset to enjoy life, but you better be real with yourself and be highly accurate in understanding your business and where it will be in 5-10 years so you don't **** up and make the wrong decision here. I agree that you should spend your money on things that make you happy... everybody dies, and nobody takes their money with them to the grave, so optimize your time spent in this life to maximize enjoyment and meaning (and if you've learned cars are something that satisfy your soul, as most of us here have, then spend what you deem a responsible amount towards cars). And don't let other people's rules dictate how you live your life - this is where a lot of people in society fail. This is more of a philosophical question that you will have to find the answer to, just don't **** up and lose all your money

I'm pretty sure the R8 is one of the worst depreciating sports cars on the market....

I think you should just chill and control yourself with the expenditures on depreciating assets until you've got so much money that you could buy a R8 outright and not give a fuk

If you're willing to spend 160-170k on a car, why on earth would you ever consider an R8?

Because Huracans go for $250-$330k here... 458’s and 488’s go for $250-$400k...

I don’t think any other car at the R8 price range looks better or performs better. I could be wrong. What were you thinking?

Looks are subjective, i don't think an R8 is a good looking car if i'm honest. But that's my opinion.

But right off the top of my head, 911 turbo s. Or used mclarens.

Are you strictly going by looks? Or performs better in what sense? Are you actually going to track the car?

I had that same mindset in 2012. Walked into a Nissan dealership with a cashiers check and walked out with a 2013 GTR. Had I waited a bit longer, I would have had one or two exotics by now. Don't really regret it as that car still puts a smile on my face every time I drive it, but I still think about the "what if's" if I had waited another few years.

    So then get it.

Idk how you went from a C43 or an M4, to an R8 worth 160k

The price difference between the cars is like 100 grand lol.

I don't think you know what you want honestly. And usually these things don't end well, but i do wish you luck.

Just post pics when you finally get something.

    F type V6 sounds really damn good actually, I wouldn't feel bad about DD'ing a V6 F Type.

But I agree... I believe it’s the best value you can get for the money. I’ve never heard a v8 sound like this.. wow.

I’ll post a pic if the financing goes through guys! So excited.

Quick question, if you have any idea, what would be a decent down payment to put down on the C63s amg coupe so if need be and I need to sell the car, I won’t be at a loss. In Canada, they go for around $80-90k used.
Best bet is to see what they are selling for trade in and dealer sale then cover the difference with the Down payment. If things go sour for you it will be easy to sell the car.
*Updated* If you can't hit a 320 yard drive, are you even a man?
