    Building muscle without carbs

No I'm not talking Keto diets. Most of us know that carbs help move the protein to start the rebuilding process right?

So what if when I get done with my workout I drink a protein water, or any isolate protein drink that has basically no carbs and then I dont eat for an hour or so which would be when I'd get my carbs.

Am I hindering maximum muscle repair you think? Or is it not enough to over say a 1-3 months be noticable?

I ask because I've been working out and downing these protein waters when I leave and thought to myself if I'm wasting money and screwing myself over by not shuttling some carbs in me to help that isolate protein.

    Thoughts?

    Protein is insulinogenic.

You don’t specifically need to spike insulin and ingest protein immediately post workout.

So why do "some" of the bigger guys always say take some waxymaize or fast carbs to get the protein flowing?

I haven't seemed to have a problem taking protein with no carbs in the getting bigger department, was just curious

Ok no doubt this is probably a fact, but now lets go to can a completely Keto diet build just as much muscle as a carb structured diet?

I agree, more cals will build more muscle. Period. Especially when some carbs are thrown into the mix. But at some point a cut will be needed to show off all that hard work in the gym. I'm cutting as we speak, 100g-150g carbs a day. I'm also carb sensitive so everyone will differ.

IDK, probably age, genetics and the way my body processes sugar. I look like total crap when I go over 200g a day, goes right to the wrong places..face, gut and chest no matter what. Cardio is like pissing in the wind and I get small in all the wrong places. I struggled for years as the guy who worked out 4-5 days a week, weighed and tracked my food with miserable sub par results. I finally figured it out and cut way back on the carbs. Fats and obviously protein I'm good with. Plus other than fibrous carbs nobody needs carbs to survive. I feel and look my best at 100g-150g a day with caffeine doing the rest. Like I said everyone is different. The OMAD diet would probably work for me. However I dread the idea so I eat three meals a day hitting my macros.

Cliffs: probably not the best idea to "build muscle without carbs".

I tried so hard not to comment on this but you tempted me too much....

    - "Looking like crap" if you go over carbs means you're just storing water... if you have an issue 'processing' sugar, that could only mean you aren't very insulin sensitive...

    - "Cardio is like pissing in the wind".... OK... what? This makes zero sense whatsoever... I don't care if you're eating carbs, proteins, or fats, if you do not establish a comparable energy deficit, balance, or surplus, you cannot compare results. Contrary to what many people think, YOU DO NOT NEED INSULIN TO STORE FAT

    - "Nobody needs carbs to survive"... oh lord.. really? Who gives a damn if you don't NEED carbs to survive? Yeah, you don't have a biological NEED for carbs, but why is that? It's because we have defense mechanisms in our bodies which in period of time where WE MIGHT DIE we can survive without them... HOW that ever got popular is just beyond me. You're basically saying, "Hey, I found out I don't NEED to feel good to not die" and using that as an argument not to eat carbs... what the hell? Even Ketosis itself is, again, a state - as far as we know it - nobody just enters out of desire for it.... if you want to take the naturalist approach arguments like you have, then try to imagine a situation in human history where, when presented with a big bowl of potatoes or rice, our ancestors would have been like, "naw dude sorry.. I mean i'm starving to death but.. don't wanna get outa KETO"...

    I just... man... SMH...

Humans did not evolve into the dominant species on the planet because we were so damn sensitive that we couldn't survive and, in many cases, thrive on a HUGE variety of diets.... and, sorry to break it to you, but if you wanna talk about health and necessity (throwback to the silly 'we don't need carbs' shyt), how necessary do you think it is/ever was for people to LOOK amazing in order to survive longer?
