Your spine decompresses when you sleep, you're .5-1 inch taller in the morning. Relevance is that I have the option to take a long nap before my training sessions. Would it be better to go straight from nap to training or give it some time to let the spine recompress? I know this is minutia but might as well ask.

Is it better to have a compressed or decompressed spine for Squat/Deadlift?

Never a decompressed spine.
A coach friend of mine from Russia would hang between every set of deadlifts he would do.
Only for a short period of time to decompress himself for the next set.
Hanging from a pull up bar is probably one of the least invasive ways to decompress.
The other might be a foam roll for the upper 2/3 of your back.
Never do the lower area with a foam roller there are other things that are better.
