Hammer Strength HD Elite -- Compatible non HS J hooks?

Do any of the other companies that make similar racks have accessories that work with Hammer Strength?

I bought a used HD Elite power rack, and my ohio power bar in 2 workouts already has done more to wear the plastic down then multiple years of gym bars using it. And way more then it ever did in my rogue sandwhich j cups. There is a groove for the bar at the bottom, the HS design for the hooks looks pretty bad now imo

I am wondering if Powerlift, Dynamic, Legend, UCS, Legend, matrix or any others accessories will fit, they dont seem to publish specs like rogue sorinex titan etc do , and it is not as common knowledge like those 3x3" 1" racks that most people use in a home gym, which is why I am asking here.

if you can't find other brands that are off the shelf, a company like Black Widow can probably make you some easily.

The Hammer racks have 3"x3" uprights, I know Legend are 4"x4 3/4", I think Power-Lift and Magnum/Matrix are all 4"x3".

I think your existing J hooks have two locating pins and the slots are spaced 3" or perhaps 3 1/2" apart, it's unlikely that another manufacturer's drop in accessories are going to fit.

If the pin diameter is 1", then accessories from the likes of Rogue could be adapted to fit, just cut down the length of the pin to fit into the slots, I realise you would only have 1 locating pin, but a 1" pin would be plenty strong enough.

    They are closer to 4x3

I have tried on a couple of occasions to find another source for j-cups for my Hammer Strength rack to no avail. Can't say as I've had the same experience of wear and tear that you've had, but I looked for alternate j cups based on cost. Life Fitness sells the "reversible j-cup" for these racks for somewhere around the $350/set range. I didn't post this to discourage your search, but I would sure like to know if you find an alternate vendor for these.

Is Dean doing custom work? I was under the impression that he is backed up and custom stuff is on hold. I may very well be wrong so it couldn't hurt to check.

I wonder if Rick at Edge may also do custom J cups. My understanding is he's pretty flexible and I know from experience he is on top of communications so he'd probably let you know really quick if he can or can't do it.

I have a 4"x3" Magnum (now Matrix) rack and the j-hooks do have a double pin , but this is to keep the hooks from moving to one side if bumped. One pin , cut to the proper length , is more than enough to safely hook any amount of weight. The main problem is I'm not aware of any j-hooks or accessories for 4"x3" uprights other than the original companies. I have a 3"x3" Magnum drop-in 1/2 rack and Rogue, Legend, or Rep J-hooks work on it after you cut the pin down.
Now OK for Sig line to be a novel

Fair enough, I was quoting figures from a Hammer Strength dealer, they have the specs as 3"x3" 7 gauge, but you have the rack, so I guess they're incorrect.

What did you end up doing for your j-hook? I have a Godzilla Fitness Squat rack and it has a similar look to the Matrix hooks with the double pins mentioned.

Just measured mine and they are 3 1/3 X 4
Mine is the Hammer Strength half rack though
Was looking at buying some used Hammer Strength accessories for it but not sure now if they will fit?
