    Post Neck injured during incline press

    Hi.. . Two days before I was doing incline bench press and suddenly my Neck started paining because my posture was not good and it was too high on the bench. Now its paining a lot .After x-ray no problem in the bones seen. Doctor said may be it is sprain or something else .he has given me neckband to use and pain killers and complete rest for 10 days but it is not recovering . what should I do I am facing main problem in lying down .I cannot raise my neck without holding it while up and down. also problem in moving left side. please help?

    How about going back to the doctor and letting him/her know that it is not improving.

    A great exercise that will strengthen your neck is wide grip pullups behind the head/neck they work great.
    Only start this when you feel better.

    Same thing happened to me although dont think mine was as severe. Happened once while doing incline bench & another time when doing pendlay rows.

    Doc told me not to workout for 2 weeks. Didnt give me any pain killers though. I rested & it went away. Id go back to your doc, see whats up.

    why would you recommend this? thats awful advice whether his neck was injured or wasntt!

    I have injured mine pretty bad, started on incline bench but it ended up blowing out on farmers walk, of all things.

    I just had to alter my upper body stuff to work with no pain or cause no flare ups later. I found I could maintain my chest with single arm decline pec fly (with other arm supporting my neck), and triceps with skull crushers, later on bench press with a pillow, there will be something you can do.
