I label him a chucker, because that is what he is, and I get bombarded with negs and people defending him.
SURE, he had talent.
SURE, he scored a lot of points.
but if you look at his game critically, it is obvious he was a ball hog chucker (this ultimately led to his early retirement). No other teams wanted him because he is a cancer that never learned how to play team basketball.
The majority of you loved his highlight reel plays, and showman style of basketball, but being alpha, and a warrior =/= all time great. Dude honestly doesn't even belong in the HOF. He is a better version of JR Smith (100% srs).
Them being the only other team to pull for out of the East, other than the Nets, to go up against Kobe and company surely adds to this AI nut hugging.
Strong nostalgia.
This infatuation with AI is sickening.
In b4 he led a poverty team to the finals.
In b4 he had to chuck since his team sucked.

Why is everyone on this forum obsessed with Allen Iverson?

lol @ Iverson being a ball hog.
brb averages 6.2 career assist on chit team (76ers)
brb carried 76ers in scoring, steals & assist
brb 5'10 165lb tough as nails strong as an ox Alpha warrior
brb sickest handles since Tim Hardaway
brb AI ruined his own career
What OP fails to realize is that yes, Allen Iverson was a chucker (I believe he attempted like 27fga one year), but he had too.. the 76ers NEVER got talent around Allen Iverson to take the load off of him and let him rest while #2 takes over.
They had Mutumbo & Iggy... those are not offensive threats, they are great defensively, but they are limited on offense.
Yes AI career FGA is 21, but come on brahh.
He had to chuck shots, if he didn't nobody else would have attempted to even score..
He always averaged over 4+ assist every season, he got his teammates involved, but they just weren't good enough.

AI was a beast, but most people who are dick riders of Iverson are Kobe haters. They call Kobe a chucker, but dick riding Iverson? Doesn't make sense. Same goes with *******s who are Melo dick riders but call Kobe a chucker ROFL.

Not only did he take that team to the Finals but he actually won a game which no other team was able to do against the Lakers in the playoffs that season.
Iverson was the smallest player on the court on a nightly basis but showed more heart and pure will than every other player. He routinely played with several injuries that would have relegated most other players to the bench. One of the most exciting players to ever step on a NBA court and the best under 6' scorer in the history of the league.
You were 10 when he went to the Finals. GTFOH***Georgia Crew***
