Man if zac veen managed to get called up this year (lol rox) my team got ls speeeeeeeeed.
Pretty happy overall, didn’t make any stupid picks even tho shark legit sniped 3-4 guys I had queued up punk ass bish m8. My staff is stacked. Musgrove/Springs/Pablo as my #3/4/5 lawd have mercy. Offense is thicc, solid, tite, no big holes like I typically have in the infield or C.

I've never understood how they value ****.
I tried to trade Scherzer for a first for years. Everybody thought I was trying to swindle them, and max just kept winning cy's.
I begged to trade Trout one year as well. No bites
This year was different. Last year I got value and didn't think I needed to trade so had all my picks
I honestly was worried about rodons injury history and moving to the AL east but I agree... a later round pick for an early round pick makes sense.
The guys giving you crap haven't been in the position of having ****ty keepers and trying to make up that value in a long time. They're looking at decent keepers, so their assessment is more "my keepers are decent, I'm gonna have to drop somebody from my keepers when I acquire them, plus lose that pick and the value that brings"
It's completely different when you don't have a good keeper core

I think this is a good point, If holding 8+ guys who are mediocre keepers, how do you find that upside? That's what the Rodon trade was for me. Rodon has top 3-5 pitcher upside and was basically healthy all year last year (little bit of fatigue in there), so I was gambling he had turned a corner.
Unfortunately I couldn't move Javier to teams who absolutely could use him, so it looks worse than it could have.

Here is my 2c:
Unless in win now, there is no way to not take long term expectations and value into account so trading for an older SP that will be on the potential decline vs a SP you already had and saving that draft pick I think you goofed.
You are not, currently, in win now mode. You should have kept Javier and would be in a better spot going into this season and beyond. You can for sure make moves/adds/trades that could result in great returns but as a whole, even looking at the bright side you lost that trade 49/51Inch by Inch is a Sinch

Rodon is 31, not 38. He just had the best season of his career.
Listen, I don't care. I don;t know why you guys are worried about my trade results so much.
If I suck at it please trade with me more so you can win all the trades and then win the league.
I'm more worried about getting screwed out of a top 200 pick.

3 of 6 keepers being good is not "good"
y'all are the ones that try to twist this chit and act like what i inherited was good. while ricardo placed last in the league the 2 years before i took over
i'm the one that traded my picks
chill is the one that hit ME up with the trout trade.
and besides i think your analysis is off. rodon had 237 k's last year. he's not getting a rodon caliber pitcher in the 7th round
he could have just as well swung rodon + aj puk late
and rodon + puk is > javier + duran

This A League Bro. We talk ****. I've been raped numerous times. I ****ed around and found out. No big deal, just move on. JY is still living off my stupidity.
This is ****ty. If Krazy had any sort of integrity he'd offer you some sort of compensation.Last edited by saaltydog; 03-26-2023 at 05:16 PM.

Ricardo's record had everything to do with him ghosting the league halfway through. It was not a reflection of the talent on his team. Very few teams in here have 3 -4 top 20 keepers. Thats what you inherited.
Zere all I have to say is please don't be like this guy. Take responsibility for your team. Don't be in here 8 years later talking about what you inherited. Even though you actually have a legit argument.

I'm going to settle this once and for all
Bro, let's say we start from scratch and you had the 7th pick of the draft. There's 14 teams in this league That means by the end of your Top 6 players would be ranked...
#7
#21
#35
#49
#63
#77
You had JoFer, Scherzer, and Arenado for sure because you've openly admitted to these 3 (Saalty would need to look at the history of Ricardo's roster to share the rest with me, or he can fill in the gaps on this one).
Regardless I'll work off the 3 I know you had. So you basically had 3 Top 25 guys. Arenado was likely Top 10. So Arenado accounts for your 1st round pick.... you're even so far. Scherzer was in his prime so snagging him 15-18th would be a win.... now you're 4 picks up from where you would have been. I'll be generous and drop JoFer all the way to 25th in value... which means you nabbed him with your #35 overall pick. Now you're a total of 14 picks up.
Now to even this out in the bottom half we'll drop your #49 pick to #53 overall (4 spots lost), #63 to #68 (5 lost) and #77 to #82 (5 lost; for 14 total given back in value that you gained from your top 3).
#53 value is a player like Felix Hernandez level talent in 2016
#68 value is a player like Craig Kimbrel 2016 value (you mentioned having Giles in a previous post... I actually think this is a comparable pick right here; Giles was actually coming off a dominant 2015 with a 1.80 ERA moving to a Houston team to close and might have been one of the first closers off the board)
#82 value is a player like Francisco Lindor in 2016... who you honestly were able to get with your first pick anyway which means you got him lower than he probably should have went as is.... he technically was fringe keeper level at an 82 overall value.
But please feel free to share your expert analysis. I pretty much just laid it all out for you. Who SHOULD you have gotten with the #7, #21, #35, #49, #63, and #77 picks in your opinion? Really pretty sure you ended up easily ahead if JoFer, Scherzer, Arenado, and Giles were all inherited and you were fortunate enough Lindor was on the board for a pick at all (which was absolutely the 1st pick in the draft because as you already told all of us many times Ricardo finished last, which means you got a GIFT of Lindor who shouldn't have been there in the first place)."One day I won't be able to lift any more. Not I won't want to lift. I mean physically unable. That day could be decades from now or it could be tomorrow. All I know is that's the day I'll wish I could lift more than ever. The day I'd give anything for one more workout, one more set, or one more cardio session. So go hard and enjoy every workout, every set, every rep. Because one day you will wake up and you will never get it back."
