Theyre both cheating, *******. You know the ball movement is literally dictated by the grip. If you pine tar your hands you affect how much the ball spins DRAMATICALLY.

If you ask me the former is much more heinous. The "electronic" system has room for error in that they have to accurately communicate it in real time. Being a batter and hearing a thump halfway to you as the pitch is thrown doesnt really help.

But seeing a ball break 12 inches more due to a substance is much more effective.

And yea, im sure this is the only thing teams use to get more $$. Again, thats all this is about

You're just as ****ing scummy as the Astros if you're here defending what they did.

When using Pine Tar it's an unwritten rule that if you don't call my pitchers out I won't call yours out. Almost every pitcher is using some kind of substance on the ball. There's no competitive advantage to either side. What the Astros did 100% gave them an unfair advantage and they would not have won the 2017 ALCS if it wasn't for their cheating. For you to argue against that shows you're a biased *******.

For someone who considers themselves a Braves fan you sure do suck a lot of Astro dick.

I find it odd MLB arbitrarily allows some advantages to happen legally (no salary cap... or floor for that matter), then turns around and deems other actions as a hard rule.

Then fans actually get upset when one team/player decides to break the arbitrary rule in place.

Like seriously, a guy who uses caffeine to get ready for a game and amped up is totally cool but another substance that will go unnamed due to forum rules is a hard no. Cortisone shots so you can numb the sh*t out of an injury and go out there and play through the pain anyway? Yeah totally normal stuff!

Speaking of fair, why is it more fair to let the most biological talent assembled on a team decide the outcome? Sure they worked hard too, don't get me wrong. But some guys will always be able to run faster, throw harder, and hit further. That's just life.

How is watching the most genetically lucky individuals win the game more admirable than the guy/team who works to use every resource they can to perform their best?
