I worry for Vegas' future after all this ****. It's my hometown, lived there for 23 years, and my parents and brothers still live out there. It's getting ****ing killed. My parents are very worried about the city's future. Losing millions everyday **** is closed. Without all the tax/gaming/hospitality revenue coming in the city has nothing. Was supposed to have the NFL draft there this weekend but like everything else it's cancelled.
I don't see how it can come back quickly either because casino gambling and social distancing aren't going to mix. I'm not one of those panicmongers but the thought of going to a poker table and sharing cards and chips and sitting right next to 8-9 other people for hours on end isn't going to feel right again for a while.Chicago Cubs

04-23-2020, 02:25 PM #8017Kansas will have to wait until June 21, and the state of Washington until May 28.
New York – the country’s hardest-hit state – reached its peak number of daily deaths 14 days ago, on April 9. The state is still expected to see hundreds of deaths each day for the next week, but it can begin reopening on May 27, according to IHME.
Someone please explain how New York who has 5,000+ cases TODAY alone, can safely open a month in advance of Kansas who’s had 2,500 or so cases TOTAL.
And before you say this per population crap don’t bother. NY has 1000 deaths per 1 mil population and Kansas has 38
This is the model we’re leaning on for opening dates. Seriously think about that hard for 5 seconds. What rational person could possibly put any faith in that horsesh*t?"One day I won't be able to lift any more. Not I won't want to lift. I mean physically unable. That day could be decades from now or it could be tomorrow. All I know is that's the day I'll wish I could lift more than ever. The day I'd give anything for one more workout, one more set, or one more cardio session. So go hard and enjoy every workout, every set, every rep. Because one day you will wake up and you will never get it back."

Models are not accurate. There are way too many factors that fudge the numbers which these models can't predict, like how many people ignore social distancing, what governments do, etc. Two weeks ago the models forecasted 60,000 Americans dying in all of 2020 due to COVID-19. That number will be over 50,000 today - and it's April.
2,996 people lost their lives in 9/11. 3,176 Americans lost their lives due to COVID-19 yesterday. We are seeing 9/11 every single day now, and that number will increase.
Yet people continue to protest. And states continue to open.Leafs, Raptors, Jays, umad?

Wtf
No these models are exactly why we shouldn’t be locking down until June.
They’ve grossly overestimated the impact from day 1
You’re a retard
About the only valid point you made is they can’t be trusted, unfortunately right after you swung the other way of retard logic saying they aren’t strict enough"One day I won't be able to lift any more. Not I won't want to lift. I mean physically unable. That day could be decades from now or it could be tomorrow. All I know is that's the day I'll wish I could lift more than ever. Yeah
First off that model of 60k you’re referencing predicted 60k MORE deaths from the point it was released two weeks ago through August.
Now it may still underestimate, but you’re too stupid to even understand it well enough to prove your own point.
Bottom line, most of these models overestimate. You referencing one (incorrectly referencing at that) that happened to underestimate is a pathetic attempt to stay relevant in a discussion about disregarding models telling people to close down
That’s the entire basis of the close down argument. So if you’re throwing models under the bus JY, what exactly are you using as evidence to suggest remaining locked down?
Peaks have past. Cases are trending down. So if you want to disregard models that leaves your entirely argument based on the opinion that cases haven’t trended down enough for your pansy ass to comfortably open.
If that’s now your argument, YOU feel free to stay the f*ck home.
C*cked yourself here JY. Should have just been content with me choosing to ignore your post considering I was so disgusted you didn’t even reference the model properly to warrant a response.
But hey you asked for a response so don’t be mad at the truth bomb in this one.
Be sure to read all of my post carefully though like I was gracious enough to do for you."One day I won't be able to lift any more. Not I won't want to lift. I mean physically unable. That day could be decades from now or it could be tomorrow. All I know is that's the day I'll wish I could lift more than ever. Georgia only has 264 cases and 11 deaths so far today

South Korean baseball starts May 5th.
Every country should learn from South Korea. They handled this **** because they dealt with SARS and then MERS. It’s time to get something in place for the fall rebound. But I think our president will be too busy trying to save his political life. I mean we are talking about a guy whose response to 9/11 was I “I have the tallest building in the city now.”Hunter Pence is a bitch crew

Only 600 cases 18 deaths in GA on Day 1 opening up
Only 700 cases 8 deaths in GA on Day 2 opening up

The full report of cases aren't tallied yet for GA.. I'll let you know soon bby Thanks for checking in tho!
As a preview early reports are pretty low. Only 185 cases and 8 deaths, which is lower than the first update that typically trickles in so all signs point to another strong day of reduced cases/deaths! I'll confirm total results once the rest is reported."One day I won't be able to lift any more. Not I won't want to lift. I mean physically unable. Does a sports bar qualify as a restaurant or a bar?
Thinking of hitting up my local sports bar tonight to celebrate restaurants opening today. JY let me know if it’s a good ideaLast edited by SoutheastBeast1; 04-27-2020 at 09:20 AM.

There’s a lot of gyms in GA voluntarily staying closed until mid May
Doesn’t make sense to me. If there’s that many people afraid to go to the gym it will be easy to distance with few there
If people aren’t afraid to go to them it means most want them open
Don’t need to be a mathematician to figure this one out. People acting like gyms are packed like rock concerts"One day I won't be able to lift any more. Not I won't want to lift.
