I bet Machado has a better fWAR in 2019 than Harper in Philly for all the negative comments about him heading to SD

Machado is a much better player for the next 5 years. I said this awhile ago when we were taking about them both getting 10 year deals

Machado will win the first 5 years; Harper the back end because Manny is lazy.


Manny is still the more naturally talented and it will still play in SD the same way it did in Baltimore. He’ll only fade once he ages. He’s fine for now.

LAD isn’t the juggernaut they once were. Giants and DBacks suck. Rockies are solid but always seem hard to predict, they’ll be good one year then suck ass the next.

Agreed. I'm not as low on Machado as I'm making it seem like. I think Manny's still a third rounder, maybe 2nd rounder if he finds his legs again.

I don't remember a lot of trades exactly, but I do remember you being involved with the Machado/Bryant ones. Other trades I'll always remember:

- Getting Pujols for Ellsbury+ from saalty waaay back in the day
- Getting "the haul" (Marte, Rendon, etc.) from chill last year
- Getting Kluber for Strasburg from Spaz two years ago and then Kluber going full Klubot afterwards
- Getting Britton for Chapman from Chill two/three years ago the year Britton didn't blow a save

And I've definitely had a bunch of saalty's sloppy seconds over the years in terms of chit young guys that never panned out - desmond jennings, starlin castro, pedro alvarez, rickie weeks...sad times

Just need some pitching. Thought Gohara would be a good gamble for them for Renfroe entering this offseason. Could have been a solid #3 for them, and we could have gotten a power hitting RF, but I’m apparently the only one on the planet who thought this was a match lol.

Urias will also be called up this season to play 2B. For their pitching staff they have some young arms being groomed. I think Michael Baez will get the call later this season.

It still baffles me how the Braves weren’t able to strike a deal with the Padres to send them a starting pitcher (Gohara or Fried) for one of their outfielders.

I don’t think I’ve ever seen a more perfect match on both sides to get rid of surplus for an obvious need and we never heard a peep about any talks between the two

I'm guessing it was either offered to me as a joke or I was offered a team of a current owner who might get the boot? My bad. Just a baseball lover who was just looking to get into a MISC fantasy baseball league this year and a keeper league sounded interesting. Didn't mean to stir up anything.

Yea it was a joke. People in this league tend to get emotional rather easily, hence a 700+ post thread in 2 weeks.

But being serious now, the major fantasy sports providers (Yahoo, ESPN, etc.) have public leagues you can join for free. I suggest you dip your toes in one of those leagues and once you have enough experience feel free to hit us up again. Check out the fantasybaseball reddit for advice and there are a ton of podcasts out there as well. The learning curve for fantasy baseball is pretty steep compared to the other sports so keep going at it and you'll be ready for more serious leagues in no time. Drop in from time to time if you need advice, we're always willing to provide.
