We’re pretending you ever had an awesome starting pitcher set prior to last year now?
Lol.

Makes it impossible to take any of you seriously

Paying full value of Scherzer in fantasy is like Nats giving Anibal Sanchez full value in free agency this winter
Why play with fire when you don’t have to? The other shoe will drop on both in the near future.
Its like me asking for a 2nd round pick for Kimbrel. HOF closer sure but you’re getting in to shaky territory and others will factor that into the price they are willing to give to you.
It’s kind of why I won’t shop Kimbrel, at least one reason. In my opinion he’ll hold up and I’m not letting him go for a price offer to adjust for the uncertainty any interested recipient would naturally factor in.
The real question is why does it rustle you so much. If you believe he has value others won’t pay.... JUST ****ING KEEP HIM.
Trade the other person you want to keep in his place instead."One day I won't be able to lift any more. Not I won't want to lift. I mean physically unable. Krazy - Maybe you'd win something if you stopped using ESPN's point league rankings.
I don't give a **** what other people's rankings are. Doesn't mean **** to me. This is a keeper league. Scherzer will be 35 years old. You're not getting top $$ for him. No one wants to be stuck holding the hot potato.
Nelson Cruz is the perfect example. He's been one of the leagues best hitters over the last 3 years. Yet no one keeps him.Last edited by saaltydog; 02-11-2019 at 10:45 AM.

Alright I really hate to do this Krazy but I think you're actually being serious, so let me break it down:
Are you aware that someone trading their 1st pick is also giving up another keeper? If I'm trading you my 1st for Scherzer I'm probably booting Snell out and then I'm foregoing my 1st round pick. Is the upgrade from Snell to Scherzer worth a 1st rounder? Likely not. While this upgrade might be worthwhile for the #CloserJunkies, it probably isn't worth it for the rest of us. It's not as simple as a mere 1st rounder for Scherzer straight up.
That's all I'm saying on this so don't bother trying to get a response from me.Leafs, Raptors, Jays, umad?

Word
I thought the cat was let out of the bag on this fact a long ass time ago.
I always figured when you *******s made idiotic comparisons like this you were just trying to pull out all the stops from salesman perspective to drive up the price as high as you can. Lol at actually believing Scherzer average draft position going in the 1st or 2nd round means he’s worth more than your 7th round pick in our league (1st after keepers) and you’re getting some kind of deal.
Another way to look at it is you are spending your 3rd and 7th pick for Scherzer (since we assign that first pitcher slot to 3rd round value).... this is also a little flawed way of thinking though since that slot is fixed in the 3rd round regardless.
But you are giving up 2 picks for 1 player essentially by making that trade."One day I won't be able to lift any more. Not I won't want to lift. I mean physically unable. That day could be decades from now or it could be tomorrow. All I know is that's the day I'll wish I could lift more than ever. Which depending on the scenario could make sense. Especially if you have **** tier keeper. But no one is giving up a 1st for a 35 yr old pitcher.
The off-season is the time to aquire elite talent like Yelich. Teams are less likely to trade them in season since it's hard to replace them. Which is why you see some serious talent going for cheap.Last edited by saaltydog; 02-11-2019 at 11:17 AM.

Anyone of those guys + a mediocre keeper is well worth someone like Yelich

Not even trying to boost myself in saying this, but my mind is blown that Yelich, Bauer, Kershaw, Carrasco, Rendon are still on the table. It's a fkn steal to trade picks for these guys (who are all top 50 players I might add). I feel like everyone thinks we're (saalty and I) trying to rip people off when in reality these guys are legit upgrades over some of the scrubs being kept. People are valuing picks way too high when there are studs available.
If you have 6 strong keepers (only 2 teams have that IMO, not gonna name names), this isn't relevant to you. But for all you guys keeping trash, jump on this now. If those five guys aren't on rosters as we enter the draft, someone fuked up big time. 99% of the reason I'm hating on keeping closers is because there are three top 10 pitchers still available to be kept. Like wtf world am I in where managers in a so called competitive league are keeping fuking closers over these guys?Leafs, Raptors, Jays, umad?

Bauer, Kershaw, and Carrasco aren’t that much more valuable than Kimbrel bro, I hate to sh*t on your parade.
And Yelich gonna boost me that much better than Rosario? Doubtful.
There’s 0 reason to meet your asking price from my perspective.
Like Saalty said, you’re asking people to dump people in addition to forfeit a pick.
Besides FYI, if no one trades for them guess who they can all draft with that first pick??? Those same guys you keep plugging.... all while also keeping the guy you would be asking them to drop by making a trade as well.
The market is adjusting and we’re waiting out you chumps who sell out all your picks mid season and then think you’ll recoup them in the offseason with your overstock.
Maybe some will cave. There’s not exactly collusion going on here. I haven’t emailed anyone to hold off and force a dump of these guys back in the draft.
But those of us smart enough to see it’s a real possibility aren’t handing you top picks for those guys and push a keeper out when we very realistically might be able o wait and just draft them with that pick while keeping our current keepers on top of it.
Just let that sink in. Times are changing boys. No reason to be mad. Adjust or fall behind"One day I won't be able to lift any more. Not I won't want to lift. I mean physically unable. That day could be decades from now or it could be tomorrow. All I know is that's the day I'll wish I could lift more than ever. Mel had 4 first round picks last year, he finished 12th.
I had 4 first rounders. Here's who I drafted rounds 1-3
7. (87) Kenley Jansen
(LAD - RP)
8. (89) Joey Gallo
(Tex - 1B,3B,OF)
9. (91) Corey Knebel
(Mil - RP)
10. (97) Luis Castillo
(Cin - SP)
11. (101) José Berríos
(Min - SP)
12. (123) Kyle Schwarber
(ChC - OF)
13. (124) Chris Taylor
(LAD - 2B,SS,OF)
14. (129) Adam Eaton
(Was - OF)
All mediocre guys/busts. Not one guy was a difference maker for me. I didn't win because I had extra draft picks. My thoughts are constantly evolving on draft picks. It's clear though if you can get first round/ top talent for a good price you should jump on it.

Lol says the guy trying to unload top talent for picks. But you've proven you can draft well and deal so not sure what my point is.
He doesn't even know what the terms of the deal are but feels like he has the right to hate on it. Guy's so stubborn he writes himself off before anyone else has the chance to.Leafs, Raptors, Jays, umad?

Maybe not
But in fairness it seems to you there’s only two people who shouldn’t be considering dealing with you.
I haven’t been approached by you. If you think you have an asking price I would accept, it’s interesting I haven’t heard it.
Before you ask why I haven’t approached you, I’m clearly content. You’re the one trying to make moves and feel you can improve my squad at a reasonable price. Why would I come to you?
You seem to think listing out your roster in here you’ve done your part but if you genuinely believe you can improve my, or someone else’s, team it would make sense to extend that offer.
So to answer your question, I’m inferring your asking price is more than I will pay and it’s likely a reasonable assumption considering I haven’t even been approached on your end any more than I’ve reached out to you."One day I won't be able to lift any more. Not I won't want to lift. I mean physically unable. That day could be decades from now or it could be tomorrow. All I know is that's the day I'll wish I could lift more than ever. Also my main point is you all are the ones that are upset when people won’t make a deal with you.
I don’t really care what your position is for picks vs. keepers. The fact some of you think everyone needs to think the same way as you, and then get frustrated when they don’t is what’s interesting.
Jyeatbvg in here talking non stop about not understanding the value of RPs when he’s trying to deal closers.
Bitch we heard you the first time, repeating it nonstop doesn’t make any of us want to trade for one of your starters to remove our closer CLEARLY. Obvious sign of frustration that you can’t move someone you think should be easy to move. Act like an adult and dea with it. You aren’t owed picks just because you think people could upgrade and choosing to stand pat.
Then you got Krazy crying every year about no one wanting Scherzer for a first rounder. Always talking about where his draft projection is each year. Same situation basically.
Neither of you are entitled to sh*t but you both come in here whining like you are because no ones traded for players you want to move.
Even if I was willing to meet either of yalls asking price, the amount of crying and entitlement going on makes me want to have nothing to do with either of you.
It doesn’t matter whether your pea sized brains can understand the decision of others or not, it’s not your decision to make its theirs. Acting like disrespectful c*nts toward others decisions won’t change that.
That’s the last I’ll say on it. Can’t wait to see no less than 4-5 posts from the two of you between now and the draft “shocked” no one will take you up on your asking prices"One day I won't be able to lift any more. Not I won't want to lift. I mean physically unable. That day could be decades from now or it could be tomorrow. All I know is that's the day I'll wish I could lift more than ever. Jyeatbvg has had this problem in season too. Never understanding why people won’t make more trades and complaining about it.
How many times will you voice your opinion on that this year Jyeatbvg? I’ll set the over/under at 10.5
Place your bets through my PM"One day I won't be able to lift any more. Not I won't want to lift. I mean physically unable. That day could be decades from now or it could be tomorrow.
