    soreness elimination

what do you all use to eliminate\minimize soreness? for me, the only thing that seems to work is a few grams of creatine & L glutamine every day (in a small glass of OJ). it's the only thing that works for me that I have found over the years. I used to think "yeah right", but if i stop taking it.... a few days later I end up pretty sore from workouts.

anyone else have any experience with this? just curious if i'm crazy or it's real LOL

Creatine helps a lot for sure, only reason I take it.

Frequency of both muscle groups and movements 3-4x a week helps substantially as well

Recovery reps (do 2 sets of 5 at 50-70% of the load that caused the soreness) then a hot shower

    This ^^^ for sure.

If I'm being consistent in the gym and hitting muscles multiple times a week, I rarely ever get sore. Frequency is key.

Same here usually. I’m currently doing volume periodization so I’m a bit “sore” on week 3 (highest volume), but no big deal.

in the past, I also definitely noticed less soreness the more often i hit the muscle group. that makes sense

With a frequency of 2X per week I can occasionally feel a little soreness like after a heavy bench or Romanian deadlift session near the end of my block when my weights are ramped up and I am near failure. The only time I have been REAL sore in the last several months is when I added Bulgarian split squats to my routine. I had been squatting twice per week with almost no doms and the split squats blew my quads out. That’s a great exercise and glad I tried it!

Interesting that some feel that creatine helps with soreness. I have been using creatine for 13 months now but have not cycled off it so I don’t have a comparison.
Bodybuilding is much more than an hour in the gym a few days a week---it's a lifestyle that changes all your perceptions about how to live, eat, and rest. It feeds the mind as much (and sometimes more so) than the body.
