I'm 53 and after being told by my doctor that my blood pressure was becoming something we "had to start watching", I decided it was time to make a change. I started cutting in March of 2018. It took a while to adjust my eating habits, but once I had a system established it just became part of my daily routine. I've lost almost 40 pounds and still was able to develop some lean muscle. I'm now transitioning to a lean bulk with a goal of 10lbs of muscle mass. My wife and three young girls have been super supportive, but my girls get grossed out by the veins on my arms and stomach. LOL
Height - 5'10"
Starting weight - 194lbs
Current weight - 157lbs
In the early pics, I had already lost about 10 pounds.

Looking good ya old fart. You actually look like you have a pretty solid bit of muscle in the “before” pics. Starting from a lot better place than most. You look thicker than 157 (my current weight as well, though 3” shorter) in the after shots as well. Definately an asthetic improvement. Look forward to seeing future progress, with your frame and starting condition, you look like you could easily add another 10, 15, 20, or more pounds of lean muscle.

That’s great progress in that time frame! I am a couple months ahead of you on my first bulk and have thought that now the real work starts in trying to add LBM. Good luck and keep us updated on progress.
Bodybuilding is much more than an hour in the gym a few days a week---it's a lifestyle that changes all your perceptions about how to live, eat, and rest. It feeds the mind as much (and sometimes more so) than the body.
