I honestly think rap music causes behavioral issues within the urban communities

Depends. Something like these two are amazing.
I bleed liquid gold and slur speech in a cryptic code
My feet slipping on this twisted road
Only the mystic knows the lone figure in the distance
No bigger than the sum of his inscriptions
Or the extent of his conviction
I sip vitamin enriched liquid diction
And digest fiction for culture
I'm force fed prose, the monster
My head and neck connected by a bolt
Tryna hold things together like the skins I fold
And take my food for thought with a pinch of salt
As the night close down on the Earth like gray dark rings
Light of cities in the nights, destination for Kings
With big dreams, like Castro, overthrew Bautista
From Cuba, and pointed nukes toward the U.S
About to shoot us for revolution; that's how you gotta move
A lot of rules, some locked in solitude
Curse the day of they birth confused, who's to be praised?
The mighty dollar -- or almighty Allah

i listen to a lot of rap music, but really it's "trap" styled rap with heavy 808 bass and crazy hi-hats. this new wave of hard sounding trap/rap music didn't start until like 2013. before that i was into oldschool boombap chit like Nas. really lyrical. or more vibe stuff like cypress hill. never got into 2000's ringtone hiphop that was more pop than rap, most of that stuff was mainstream garbage. the underground scene we have now is way better, it's dark and gritty and experimental.
i've always been into metal/rock music growing up, so if rap music stopped existing everyone would be into rock music again. or at least EDM like trance, techno, dub music which can be great at times. There was a period of like 10 years where i didn't listen to rap music and those were great times, but nowadays ppl have lost appreciation for music that isn't pop or rap influenced and that sucks, especially mainstream radio top 40 audience ... its wack. I don't think society would be "better off" without rap music, but ppl would be alot more appreciative of more diverse music.TEXAS REPS

I see where OP is coming from
You see it in a lot of youth dressing like these idiotic rappers and mimicing their speech patterns.
But the way I see it is, an idiot will be affected negatively by rap and if not by rap, he would still be an idiot and will be affected by something else.
If someone does not grow out of the glorifying hip hop/ rap phase then they were never going to amount much regardless of music
Don't really blame rap music much, in the end, its up the parents and the way they were raised.Future P.A in progress

MUCH MUCH better. Seriously.
The root of most problems in the US relates to these terrible cultural upbringings. They lead to glamorizing violence, drug use, fatherless households, etc. Hip hop, while not the sole contributor, is a main one perpetuating these ideas.
Instead these communities blame non-existent systemic racism for their problems, when they should be looking at Hollywood, music and our terrible public education systems.

lets be serious for a second, how many parents are actually following the ''parental advisory'' stickers on the cd's when in comes to rap? pretty sure there arent 18 year olds listening to a 2pac song and then going out to shoot police. point being, its more a parenting issue than hurr durr rap is poisoning our childrens minds, since, children arent supposed to be listening to it in the first place.
this as well. rip.Formerly HandBrah, LipBrah & FootBrah

I love hip-hop BTW. I think there are positive and negative aspects to it, but that's with any art.
The fact is that gangsta rap was brought to the forefront of the music industry in the early 90s. You all forget how uplifting and thoughtful songs from The Fugees, De La Soul, A Tribe Called Quest, Nas, etc. were and go straight to gangsta rap as a reflection of all hip-hop. It is intellectually dishonest TBH.A hit was sent, from the President, to raid your residence /

It needs to be broken down in British brah.
Let me tell you a story OP
Here we go
Once upon a time not long ago
When people wore pajamas and lived life slow
When laws were stern and justice stood
And people were behavin' like they ought ta good
There lived a lil' boy who was misled
By anotha lil' boy and this is what he said
"Me, Ya, Ty, we gonna make sum cash
Robbin' old folks and makin' tha dash"
They did the job, money came with ease
But one couldn't stop, it's like he had a disease
He robbed another and another and a sista and her brotha
Tried to rob a man who was a D.T. undercover
The cop grabbed his arm, he started acting erratic
He said "Keep still, boy, no need for static"
Punched him in his belly and he gave him a slap
But little did he know the lil' boy was strapped
The kid pulled out a gun, he said "Why did ya hit me ?"
The barrel was set straight for the cop's kidney
The cop got scared, the kid, he starts to figure
"I'll do years if I pull this trigga"
So he cold dashed and ran around the block
Cop radioes it to another lady cop
He ran by a tree, there he saw this sista
A shot for the head, he shot back but he missed her
Looked around good and from expectations
So he decided he'd head for the subway stations
But she was coming and he made a left
He was runnin' top speed till he was outta breath
Knocked an old man down and swore he killed him
Then he made his move to an abandoned building
Ran up the stairs up to the top floor
Opened up the door there, guess who he saw?
Dave the dope fiend shootin' dope
Who don't know the meaning of water nor soap
He said "I need bullets, hurry up, run!"
The dope fiend brought back a spanking shotgun
He went outside but there was cops all over
Then he dipped into a car, a stolen Nova (?)
Raced up the block doing 83
Crashed into a tree near university
Escaped alive though the car was battered
Rat-a-tat-tatted and all the cops scattered
Ran out of bullets and still had static
Grabbed a pregnant lady and out the automatic
Pointed at her head and he said the gun was full o' lead
He told the cops "Back off or honey here's dead"
Deep in his heart he knew he was wrong
So he let the lady go and he starts to run on
Sirens sounded, he seemed astounded
Before long the lil' boy got surrounded
He dropped the gun, so went the glory
And this is the way I have end this story
He was only seventeen, in a madman's dream
The cops shot the kid, I still hear him scream
This ain't funny so don't ya dare laugh
Just another case 'bout the wrong path,
Straight 'n narrow or yo' soul gets cast(Mother north, united we stand, together we walk
Phantom north, I'll be there when you hunt them down.
Absolutely Love This For You! ❤️💕

This. It always goes back to parenting. You think somebody raised in a well adjusted two parent household is gonna be inspired to go shoot people because of a song they heard? Fukkin lol. I've seen terrible parents firsthand, and it doesn't have chit to do with musical preference.

I personally dont think eliminating any weakness would result in "better" anything
All youd do is narrow the competition and in turn create new competition
And im using that as a broad rule for everything, not just music
Anything "masterrace" wouldnt work, youd just effectively eliminate "masterrace"

Which begs the question... WHY is the parenting so bad? What leads to such bad parenting in particular communities relative others? That’s the point here.
And I’m not trying to put words in your mouth, but most people put blame on some sort of systemic racism which leads to poverty/crime/ and a inevitably a general culture of bad parenting and upbringing. The only problem is supporting evidence for view is completely absent. So again, what is the root cause of the problem?
