Tired after exercise - down to Antidepressants?

    Hey guys,

I really want to start an exercise regime however I am totally worn out after even an hour of light exercise. I am not overweight, I eat healthy and have no health issues that I know of. However, I am on an Antidepressant and wondered if anyone else has had a similar issue that was resolved by coming off them.

    Would appreciate any feedback.

Check out "Lost Connections" by Johann Hari. It helped a lot with my depression. Depression can affect your energy and motivation, and Johann argues quite convincingly that antidepressants only target the symptom, i.e. the feelings of depression rather than what causes the depression. Address the cause, improve your depression. Diet and exercise can help a lot with it - don't feel let down or defeated, keep on going. You can do it.

Anti-depressants like any drug have side-effects that are NOT good for your body and mental health. You have to decide to leave these alone and TRUST your workout and healthy eating, good vitamins [that are natural and without preservatives] and ENJOY the journey to better health in mind, body and soul.

An antidepressant should not make you tired...

There are drugs to treat anxiety that can cause you sleep such as "riserpdal" / "zyprexa"...

Things like that will force you to sleep.

Something like Prozac / lexipro should not do that to you

I am not a dr but technically dont antidepressants give you a boost? I mean, that is what they are for. Again, not a dr but I personally would not self diagnose and cut a medicine that is benefiting your life as you see fit for the moment. Speak with your dr and hopefully you get some answers

I used to be really exhausted after exercise, even if it wasn't intense exercise. I turned out to be anemic. My doctor gave me iron pills, and that fixed it for me. See your doctor.
