How can I increase my apetite?

Hi guys, I am unable to put on any muscle.

So, what I am trying to do is eat more. I am running an experiment... Here is my logic, if I eat more and I am not growing, then my training is bad.

If I start to grow, then I know I wasn't eating enough.

    So.

I weigh 217 pounds and I am 6 foot tall.

Here is a picture of me -> https://ibb.co/gFzLLZk

If I only eat when my body WANTS to eat, I am lucky to get 50 grams of protein a day and 150 grams of carbs a day. This is what my body WANTS, anything more my body is "what the phuck I'm not hungry".

My apetite is chit. It doesn't matter that I work for Pepsi and do heavy labor as a driver. It doesn't matter if I do cardio or workout, my body does not like to eat.

I know I'm fat and that is mainly because I like soda (doesn't help working for Pepsi).

So here are my two questions

    1) how do I make my apetite go up?
    2) do I just have to accept that I'll have to force feed myself? Do some people just have phucked up appetites?

Just start eating man. You will get used to it and before you know it, will have to tell yourself to stop.

Man up, princess. Eat the damn food and stop drinking all that carbonated soda. No wonder you've got no appetite.

Also, you're got very little muscle mass from that pic so I'd even suggest you could eat in a small deficit and build some muscle. Get a proper lifting routing such as Fierce 5; stop drinking soda as it's probably that which is surpressing your hunger and enjoy the newbie gains.

I'm ok with force feeding, I just want to get an idea if it's just me or if other people have very weak appetites.

Given your bodyfat is well over 20%, i find it hard to believe you have a small appetite.

Not meant as an insult, I'm just saying that this doesn't really match with your current 'issue'.

I 100% agree with you, it looks like I eat a ton.

    But I don't.

HOWEVER, I can easily drink 8 - 10 cans of soda a day. The sugar is keeping me fat.

I don't mind being over 20% body fat... Whenever I lose weight and get very skinny all I attract is a bunch of men cause I start to look like a "twink".

My goal is to maintain 20 - 25% body fat and add on muscle.

I am lean, but I do not have a "weak" appetite....Increasing your physical activity (strength training and cardio) will naturally increase your appetite. Also, try eating little meals every 3-4 hrs. or so. Some people believe they are keeping themselves satiated this way, but they may, in actuality, eating more calories throughout the day. The idea is to find a way to take in healthy calories without making yourself feel uncomfortable or "sick."

Edit: Everyone responds differently to eating small meals throughout the day or full meals 3 times a day.

Not concerned about being overweight. I attract more women being fat (current weight than being skinny.

There is no motivation for me to be 8% body fat to say "wow, I can have sex with a ton of men in Uptown Dallas" (where I work for Pepsi).

I was also diagnosed with testicular cancer late November and had a surgery mid December.

It is very possible that I am being too unrealistic with what I want to do with my body and need to accept that I have extremely unhealthy genetics.

I have a 15% chance of dying within 5 years plus the doctor told me good chance it will come back with a vengeance years later.. And not just stage 1, stage 3 or even 4 which is not fun to deal with.

    I appreciate all the responses.

I don't see where i asked for, or care, about any of that information. I simply clarified for you that sugar doesn't make you fat, or keep you fat. Surplus calories is the reason.

    Yes.

I do not want sympathy, the only thing I wish is that I had this diagnosed and treated around 20 and not at 27.

Because it was found later, there's a much higher likelihood it will metastasis and come back as stage 3 or 4 which means you lay in bed and die.

Going to buy some and see how my body responds.

I'm not trying to be a compete phaggot and cry nonstop.

I just want to make sure it's normal that others force feed themselves and that my apetite for FOOD is bad.

I love soda though and those calories keep me fat.

    -

What I have learned so far is

    1) I will try to cut out soda completely, I have no will power and if I drink just one... It won't be one, it'll be 10 a day.

    2) going to keep force feeding and maybe I'll get used to the food

    3) also looking into "Fierce 5"

I just didn't think cancer is relevant + I do not like to dwell on this since I will more than likely be dead within 10 years.

That's the reality of my genetics and how cancer runs on our mom's side.

Cancer is basically a war. You can win "battles" with surgery and delay the inevitable with chemo / radiation but when it metastasizes and now it's a stage 3 or stage 4 cancer... You die.

That is the game cancer play, "it's gone for now" and then it comes back.

According to a doctor cancer does not effect "testosterone levels".

He seemed to think it is possible to put on size with cancer...

But it doesn't make sense because when your cancer progressively gets worse, you cannot even maintain weight and people are put on drugs like Oxandrolone (Anavar) to desperately keep on weight.

Anyways, don't want to get off topic because this is depressing

When I am busy, physically active, or stressed my appetite goes away hard; I can easily do a double shift at work (16 hours) and not even once feel hungry or even like eating.

Either I'll make something very calorie dense like a loaded pizza, make a nice shake, or throughout the day I'll snack on trail mix, sunflower seeds, or nuts since they are easy to get in. I can rack up 1-2k calories just in trail mix without noticing it, a few handfulls add up.

I understand we have to stay on topic. But you need to have caring people in your life you can talk to. How does your family or your friends support you? Or do you prefer to talk to people not close to you?

You're looking to build strength and size. You wouldn't bother unless you believed you could fight this. You're a fighter.

Whether you consume tons of sugar or none at all, an energy deficit will cause weight loss, and an energy surplus will cause weight gain.

If you eat too much fat, your body will put that into your body fat... if you eat too many carbs (including sugar), your body will store dietary fat as fat and some of the carbs will be converted to fat as well, depending on how over-fat you are. Too much protein is unlikely to ever convert into fat, but it can happen in extreme, extreme cases.

Bottom-line: manage your energy balance, manage your weight. Exercise will increase muscle mass which will, in turn, burn more energy at rest AND during movement, and you will also burn more energy from your body repair processes.

I have a similar reaction... brb walking 7+ miles while carrying golf clubs for 5 hours up and down hills, barely feeling hungry.... then when I get home, I could probably eat 2 XL pizzas in 20min.

Yes I did. My advice doesn’t change regarding nutrition.

Just ****ing eat, if you can’t then force a high calorie shake in yourself it’s that easy.

So many guys talking about how much they eat and just can’t gain weight.

You tell them to add an extra meal in at breakfast and then 5 hours later they skip lunch because they are not hungry. Then I just face palm.

In all fairness, no one here is a phucking doctor.

Also, this site doesn't like you talking about anabolics but I was put on "Oxandrolone" because of how weak I was.

The medical reason for "Oxandrolone" is that your body puts on lean muscle automatically. It is given to people with "AIDS", certain cancers, and also bone loss.

I am suppose to see an "Endocrinologist" to check the "thyroid".

Doctor was concerned that my body is not responding to prescribed "Anabolics" and when a person's body is not responding to Anabolics... Doctor said that indicates thyroid issues.

This doctor is pretty cool because he used to be a body builder so he knows about this chit.

So I was also told I could have something called "Hypothyroidism"...

I told this doctor, I am phucking tired of being the weird 27 year old with problems people in there phucking 50's have.

He said, the testicular cancer you had since probably 20 = .00006% chance to get in America...

"Honestly, knowing your luck you probably have hypothyroidism

He told me he had a friend in college that couldn't on muscle on anabolics and this guy has "hypothyroidism" and once that was addressed, he put on size pretty quickly.

    -

TL;DR I am going to follow up with these stupid medical issues.

I was hoping there's a magic way to make myself more hungry.

If I have to force feed myself, I'll do it.

Try cutting back on the 1o Pepsi's a day and see if that doesn't help appetite. (You realize that's 1500 calories of pure sugar every day?)
