    Working out after spontaneous pneumothorax

I am 15 and had been lifting for 8 months amd had gained 18 pounds.I started extremely skinny almost anorexic looking. On 21st December I was diagnosed with non-traumatic spontaneous pneumothorax of the right lung.I had emergency surgery in which I had a chest tube inserted in me.After a few days I had pleurodosis done.I have heard of spontaneous pneumothorax recurring in individuals. The doctor told me that lifting had caused my lung to collapse and told me not to lift or do any physical activity not even jogging forva year.Hearing this I was extremely depressed as I had been very active from childhood. Is this legit or should I start lifting before that?

You could always consult another doctor on a second opinion but if multiple doctors warn you that lifting could collapse your lung then yes you should listen to them.

How many years did you study medicine OP?

If your answer is "none", then I'd wager your Dr is a bit smarter than you, and you should listen to him.

Do your parents know you're soliciting medical advice from strangers on the internet?

Get another medical opinion if your concerned.
A doctor needs to see you personally to actually see your condition and make a diagnosis.
People here for the most part are not doctors.
Even if it happened to them their issue might be slightly different.
I understand your frustration but as others have mentioned don't seek medical advise here.
