Do you have a calorie surplus on the SECOND rest day?

I know that muscle is built while at rest so it makes sense to eat up on the days away from the gym, but what if you are on your second rest day? I know it's best to be consistent with your caloric intake on a daily basis but will those extra calories actually help out growth/recovery on your second rest day?

Just get your TDEEs etc.. in by the end of the week. Daily timing is for marginal benefit.

i usually eat 200~300 calories less on rest days thats my post workout meal (2x banana and a whey shake).
on rest days i will not consume this calories but what matters is your weekly calories intaken.

for example if you need 18.000 calories in a week your body does not care if you take 2300 one day the other day 2700 and the other 2500. just be sure to get your weekly calories.

of course i would not suggest to take only 1500 calories during the week and on sat and sun for example 5000 calories.

If slow bulking. Then surplus every single day. Keeps it simple.

Bodies don’t work on 24 hour clocks. Keep it simple and make sure you are hitting your minumums and weekly goals. Your body is always working

weight training doesn't burn a huge number of calories compared to, say, cardio over the same time.

I make zero adjustment... no point... just go on a 1-2 mile walk and you'll basically burn the same amount anyway... plus you can use the calories as training fuel the next day.

Yes makes sense to eat less, assuming your expenditure is lower. Lifting might take around 300-400 kcal and muscle protein synthesis takes kcal too.
