    Early morning workout schedule

Hi everyone. This is my first time posting on this forum and i’m Looking for some advice and possibly results from other early morning people out there. I’ll start off with a little info on my current situation and where I stand.

My current work schedule is 4 days on and 4 days off. My hours are 5am to 6pm and going to the gym after work is out of the question. I’d rather spend time with my family instead of working out, so I opt to go before work. In order for me to go to the gym before work, I’m getting up around 2:30am, leaving the house for 3, and getting to the gym around 3:20. That gives me about a 45 min- 1 hr workout before having to leave for work. I go to bed around 8:30-9 and do it for my rotation.

For those of you not willing to do the math on sleep, that gives me about 5.5 hrs of sleep which is normal for me everyday regardless of work or not.

On my off days, it becomes difficult to go to the gym in the afternoon because I prefer to workout first thing in the morning on an empty stomach. I have a 2 year old, so I couldn’t go to the gym even if I wanted to until 2 in the afternoon anyway. My biggest issue with losing weight and building any muscle is my crappy schedule because my routines are so far from each other in time. This will be my third attempt at this schedule in the last year and hoping to stick with it this time. The only thing I take before my workouts in the morning are a pre workout because nothing else can make this body move. Any advice on maximizing my results would be appreciated!

What are your goals? If it's fat loss it all comes down to taking in fewer calories that you burn on a consistent basis over time.
If you don't get what you want you didn't want it bad enough

I’m looking to lose about 10 lbs in my stomach and work on muscle mass mainly.

you need to choose one or the other as it’s very difficult to do both simultaneously. Choose the one you’re the most concerned with

If it's at all in your budget and space constraints, consider getting equipment for a home gym. You can get a lot second hand and you don't have to get everything at once. Having a home gym and being able to use it anytime I want is what makes it possible for me to stay consistent with working out.

We will be doing rennovations in May and I have one area where it will actually be dead space. It won’t be large enough for a lot of equipment, but it would be perfect for a treadmill. I live in Rhode Island and have tried working out in the basement before, but the winters are way too cold to want to go down there. I haven’t thought about getting any equipment at home again since. I can at least do cardio at home for 4 days. Thanks for planting a seed!
