This thread will serve as a progress log for my hair regrowth treatment.
I’ve been on TRT since I was 28 when I had bilateral varicocele repair surgery. At that time, I had a full head of hair with no signs of alopecia. Alopecia does not run in either my maternal or paternal genetics however my older brother is beginning to experience early signs. I do not know, nor can I verify, if my androgenic alopecia is heredity or a result of TRT therapy.
My alopecia is typical with thinning on my crown, receding front hair line, and moderate thinning on the top of my head between my hairline and crown. I am a type III vertex - type IV on the Norwood scale.
My physician prescribed treatment will consist of finesteride oral, and ketoconazole 2% shampoo. My doctor recommended a minoxidil treatment as well so I decided to purchase Tugain - Tugain is a 10% minoxidil concentration as opposed to Rograin which is 5%. I am considering adding a biotin ointment and/or saw palmetto (either oral or topical. Note: I undergo quarterly blood panels as part of my TRT treatment and have never experienced issues with my prostate indicators, blood cell count, or estrogen levels. All are normal or below and consistent pre and during treatment).
Administration will be daily AM for the finesteride, daily usage of the ketoconazole shampoo, and daily PM usage of the Tugain. I have also buzzed my hair very short so that I do not need to use any type of gel or wax hair products during my initial treatment.
Here is an anterior and posterior photo of my current state prior to cutting my hair.
I’ll post progress pics monthly.
Any advise or experience welcome.

1 month pics.
I honestly had no expectations of any noticeable difference before 3 months but I my hair feels thicker already. I don’t think there is any discernible regrowth yet but definitely strengthening and thickening the hair I do have.
My hair is a lot shorter in these pics than the initial post.

2 months progress
I don’t really notice any difference from 1 month personally but the hair does feel a bit fuller when I run my hand through it. 90-days is the point I was hoping to see some improvements so we’ll see how it goes.

Forgot to post the pictures from 3 months.
No real noticeable difference in thickness however I can see my front hairline filling in and the crown spot is shrinking a bit. The regrowth is fine but starting to come in.I rep Texas Bruhs.

My doctor prescribed me the ketokonazole and the finasteride so my insurance covers them and they’re $5 per month each. The Tugain is over-the-counter but I can use my FSA card for it which is nice. It was $75 for a 90 day supply which is 3 bottles but after 90 days, im only half way through the second bottle so it should actually last me about 6 months. So all in, the total for all three treatments is about $25 per month.

I didn’t have a chance to post the 4 or 5 month but here is the 6 month picture.
I also ran out of my finasteride and couldn’t get it refilled for almost 2 months, I used one of those online pharmacies called BlinkHealth and it absolutely sucks, nothing but trouble.
The crown has definitely filled in and my front hairline is more defined but still a bit thin on the top. Hopefully getting back on the finasteride and keeping up with my minoxidil and ketaconzole will start to fill it in.
