Anyone notice after 30 you begin to have digesting issues with high greasy food or is it just me? How did you change your meals and what works best for you

I think for me its that I don't eat much greasy food at all so when I do, its a shock to my body and wreaks havoc. I look at it basically like going out and having a bunch of drinks with friends and knowing I will have at least a small hangover the next day. Just comes with the territory.

At 54 now I've had a bit of trouble with acid reflux when I eat the wrong foods - I don't know if it has anything to do with getting older and digesting greasy foods or just the fact that I now apparently have a problem with me oeso****us not closing properly and when my stomach is full acid gets past into my throat. Apparently greasy food and fatty meat is the worst mainly because it takes longer and 'hangs around' in the upper stomach longer.
Last week I made the mistake of eating a 'treat' my wife had made at 8pm. It had butter in it which seem to be a trigger for acid with me. Between 9pm and 1 am I drank small glasses of water with a total of 5 teaspoons of baking soda to neutralise the acid coming up my throat.
My new routine is to do 80% of my eating through the day and have a half sized dinner 2-3 hours before bedtime, which gives the food time to go down far enough not to cause issues with my throat.Training in our home gym to get in better shape and combat the A.G.E virus. https://www.springbokphotography.com

Interesting. I was talking to the woman at the health shop a while ago and mentioned that when I had a glass of Coke with a hamburger I didn't have acid reflux problems as with a simple burger [on the rare occasion when I eat a burger]. She said the same thing, that the Coke helps the digestion process.

You are going to have significantly more issues digesting greasy food cooked in vegetable oil rather than greasy food from natural animal fats. Vegetable oils are in almost everything you eat in restaurants and fast food joints and it's possibly the most unhealthy and distressing "food" you could consume.
