Just learned of Jules Bacon. Will post pics below, but for me he gives me hope for an impressive and achievable physique. That, and he's 5'7" and 175, and I'm 5'7.5 and 175, so that gives me hope... 'cept for the fact that Jules' be roughly 10% bodyfat using the US Navy bodyfat method and I'm 19% percent lol. Thanks for reading. I have some older, pre-steroid era, bodybuilders I like as well...but generally, ANYONE who looked more like what we would call “physique” these days, but before the 80s “classic” (generic) look took over.

I am surprised. No one has mentioned Sergio Oliva.
Certainly the best proportions known to a man. Upper body of an open bodybuilder. Waist of a mens physique. Forearms and calves of a powerlifter. He's called the myth for a reason. Classic is different due to people's age. I mean the stuff I listened to in the 70's and 80's that was new is on all the classic rock radio now. But I digress, I have to say classic "Franco, Reeves, Draper, Zane. I am short 5'5 and 160 contest and 170 off season. It is hard as a wheelchair natty. Anyway, I read Draper's book "Brother Iron, Sister Steel" he said that Sergio was from another planet and no way he could have ever beat him.
Arnold will always be the king, hands down. But what I would call modern classic, I thought Haney and Gaspari were fantastic and no one has ever had the grace on stage as Labrada and Paris. Poor Bob got shunned for being gay, what a shame. Such talent. Dorian was a 2nd coming of standard bearer, "The new Arnold" so to speak.
