The rich don't pay taxes.
If the feds put a 70% marginal tax on incomes over $10m/yr the rich would get out of it. We would see a lot more "foundations" and charity contributions and also see more movies made out of the US so the celebrities who love to push this same stuff would get out of paying taxes.
EDIT:
I don't mean the rich pay taxes in the sense that they pay $0/yr, I am referring to them being able to work around the tax code to reduce the amount they pay.

Yyyyyyep. People acting like this is the 50s where the rich people couldn't actually -legally- evade paying their taxes like you can do now.
Moronic idea. If the government takes 70%+ of every dollar you're making past a certain threshold, you're basically either:
1) Ok with it and are actually altruistic and dumb enough to tihnk the government is proficient enough to use the money wisely
2) going to a tax haven with it and/or not report it and/or establish a foundation/charity
3) going to work a lower level job instead of working the extra hours to achieve a job that pays you into that 70% bracketArsenal F.C / San Antonio Spurs

How has it work out for CNN and all the far left media when it comes to attacking Trrump?
I agree she is a threat, however you’re strengthening that threat by giving her nonstop coverage and making her famous.
There are millions of clueless Americans who hear “free college”, “free healthcare”, “the rich have to pay their fair share” and it resonates with their ignorant view of the world. Just stop giving this ignorant piece of garbage the time of day.300 Forever

Another stupid idea by a stupid person.
The people who have all the wealth in this country (the .001%) hide their money and don't pay taxes like the rest of us. Remember the whole Panama Papers thing that disappeared from the news immediately? HMMMM.
So in other words, this would be another blast on people making 250k a year (doctors, etc) who are the backbone or the tax paying base. Meanwhile, 45-50% of people (people just barely more broke than me) don't pay a single thing.
Does this dumb bitch not understand how this country even works?

Could be for some. Others it can be like of opportunities, mental or physical health issues, or any number of reasons. Most jobs just don't pay much, 40% are under $15/hr, to keep up with a persons expenses. But there seems to be the idea here they are all buying lobster and making luxury technology purchases.
So your reasoning is that because what is considered poverty in a third world country is worse than in the United States, the fact that we have poor people in this country who are struggling to get by doesn't matter? I thought we were discussing issues as they pertain to the United States not an arbitrary country having little bearing on the conditions within our own. Poverty line for an individual is what about $12k? You probably aren't getting those things you mentioned if you are living in poverty. But you seem to be under some impression that these people are buying the latest iphones._____________

Ocasio-Cortez wants a 70-80% income tax on the rich. I agree! Start with the Koch Bros. -- and also make it WEALTH taxWhen all that says 'it is good' has been debunked, what says 'I want' remains.
