Any of you strict OHP fellas had issues with your upper back? I had to shut down today due to what feels like a pinched nerve or something. 3rd time this has happened in as many months, usually lasts at least 2-3 days and I can barely turn my head side to side or up and down without fairly severe pain. I think I'm going to have to cut them out of my programming for a while, which sucks since I'm finally starting to feel decently strong with them.

Talked to a PT friend of mine that's also been in the PL/BB'ng game for quite a few years, said it was an upper trap strain, heat, advil, easy stretching and it's getting steadily better. It only seems to happen when I grind a rep out, so gonna change my programming to cluster style sets and shut them down once bar speed starts to be compromised to prevent this in the future.

@Novacaine: I've never had strains from OHP but I got a bad one from a row machine once. Similar symptoms to yours but on the internet I can only speculate. Masseuse found the spot and said it was tight tendons, and she worked on the area around the right side of my trap where it joins the scapula for about 90 minutes' worth of painful elbow massage and stretching my neck to all angles. Felt like she was trying to break my neck. In Thai they call it "falling off the pillow" but it felt like I fell of the Empire State building, never felt so old or immobile in my life. So, give it a shot at a good massage in addition to what your PT friend advised you to do.Once upon a time (maxes 2020) ...
