I tried the Celestia after i wrote my post, and DID think it was a bit feminine. Then again, while Petit Matin, and Aqua Universalis may not be "feminine" they're only loosely unisex leaning fem lol

Oud EDP and Oud Extrait are not AT ALL "real oud" smelling. They're safe "slightly" woody aromas with that powdery MFK dna. I love both but the extrait cranks up the enjoyability for Oud the same way it does for 540.

It's pretty good bro, but not ground breaking. In the "blue" fragrance world I would put it behind Sauvage and above Bleu.

The Y EDP performance is crazy, crazy good too.

What is everyone's thoughts on the Frederic Malle house? Especially, musc ravageur.

I've tried "Portrait of a Lady" and "Vetiver Extraordinaire", there is something in the drydown dna of FM scents that i very much don't like. Have no idea what it is, but putting my nose on those two, i've never been tempted to purchase a bottle of FM, but that's just me.

Noted. I just ordered the Areej Le Dore sample set. I also threw in dat der Nishane Ani cause coalman was talking about it and the homie Yacouba (who has a large Roja/Bortnikoff collection) said Ani was the best release of 2019 so i'm highly intrigued.

I couldn't resist the Penhaligon's marketing I got samples of "Roaring Radcliff" (Rum, Tobacco, Ginger Bread), and "The Tragedy of Lord George" (Brandy, Shaving Soap, and Tonka Bean) lol can't fukin wait to smell dis chit.

The original version of MR had a very distinct clove in the opening, but I've heard in the reformulation that it has been toned down.

You should also look into Méharées Acqua di Profumo by L'Erbolario Lodi, since it's similar to MR without the cloves. It's a very good MR clone.

I have both bottles (my bottle of MR is pre-reformulation) and Méharées actually skips MR's opening and goes straight to the dry down. I've seen Méharées go for about $55 on Amazon.

Pure degeneracy. Anyone even remotely familiar with ALD fragrances know they are prob the most polarizing fragrances available. What smells like a holy grail to one person smells like a dumpster fire to another. Be prepared to see the forums, and the ******** frag groups flooded with bottles that have "1 to 2 sprays missing / 99% full" in the coming weeks.

I ordered the sample set, and am not at all worried at missing out. To be quite frank i hope i'm indifferent on them because I want to pick up (another) Malik Al Taif, and Baikal Gris from the last collection. As for as this collection i think my preferences will be: Siberian Summer > War & Peace > Antiquity > PLumeria de whatever

Pretty decent house IMO. They have a lot on offer that chances are high that you will find one that strikes your fancy. I also like how Malle puts the individual perfumers front and center and doesnt take credit for their work.

Musc Ravageur is good. A nice vanilla fragrance that i used to think was a bit dirty/skanky. But my tolerance for musky frags has increased that i doubt I would have the same opinion today if i tried it again. I tried it again after a few years and it smelled different to me, so it may have been reforumlated. I have two on my radar, The Night and Promise.

Probably something i know that she has said she liked in the past. Otherwise, a light sprays of something sweet, BR 540, a vanilla based frag, a gourmand like Italica, etc). I wouldn't personally do a sharp piercing citrus or something zesty/sparkly like Gentle Fluidity.

This is another one that depaulwifihifisofly turned me onto. I admittedly forgot that I even had some of this until someone in FGN mentioned it. I have 15ml to last me and thankfully this is a 2-spray wonder. Close Up is unlike any other cold weather fragrance I know of, spicy warm vanilla, cherry, powdery. Fantastic juice with equally good performance.
