Again, what is your goal? She has no property, no money, no life, she isn't going to "learn her lesson" since she's a full blown pill addict - so what do you get for $$$ spent?

Take her license, if she even has one, and call it a day. Don't spend a nickel cycling her through the justice system.

If a law is created for the sake of what might happen under a certain influence, then it isn’t a law being enforced due to the influence of said law not being without any influence. The drug is beside the point.

By all means magnify what law is broken if under a careless influence but lettuce not be Hippocrates.

This is a drug problem and the drug war has been failing for 30+ years now. Trillions down the drain for essentially 0 gainz.

I'm open to ideas, but giving this woman a (longer?) record and trying to somehow make her life even worse isn't going to make the public safer. These are people who risk life and death every day to get high. You can't threaten them into behaving.

    You heard it here first:

The trend you will see all across the country is DA's not prosecuting anything.

The next attack on America will be the break down of the justice systems - they've destroyed the culture, now they will move on to law & order.

In San Francisco, our DA, is literally the child of the founders of the Weather Underground domestic Terrorist group, who actually carried out bombings and murders inside the United States. And now San Francisco doesn't prosecute any crimes, even when the police arrest one of the million homeless people who break into peoples cars and steal everything...the DA just drops the case.

Should be forced to do 6 months rehab after she serves time from charges. A lot of these people get locked up for a few weeks/month at most and never get a large amount of clean time to truly wake their brains up.

We can't look at this opioid epidemic from a spiteful/emotion stand point. That will never actually help fix the problem. The key is to FORCE a legitimate amount of clean time on these people and help rehabilitate.

The entire justice justice system would collapse overnight if every hobo crime was prosecuted. Bad for business. Things like DUI's and traffic tickets are gold mines, in comparison.

i actually support decriminalizing all narcotics. it would eliminate so much BS from mexico and take away so much power of the cartels. SEVERAL countries abroad have done this and have seen broad reductions in OD and narcotic related crime. But the downside here is sooooo many offenders would have to be set free from the prison system and we all know how much money the privatize system makes from that

But the downside here is sooooo many offenders would have to be set free from the prison system and we all know how much money the privatize system makes from that
    I agree 100%

The only point you got wrong is prisoners would NOT have to be released because under law they committed the crime when it was illegal.

I’m sure people would push for it so maybe it could be a gradual reintroduction situation.

You know that the commies in the democrat party would say that they have to be set free if narcotics are made illegal. That is what they are sayign about marijuana now. Although, i have no idea if marijuana offenders were set free in any of the states that made it legal over the past decade thouh
