An oily affair, not entirely unlike the soothing head massage given by a hair artist from supercuts using luxurious paul mitchell tea tree products. Just under the oily top, are a host of lush spices that one could fall in comfortably like a bed... nigh, a mother's bosom. If the drydown wasn't but a faint whisper of oud i might deem this conception too much... but alas it resonates soul.

They are somewhat similar, i think VUI is a bit more vanilla focused and doesnt have as much Iris. i prefer DHI, but may be in the minority

Anybody else try this stuff? This stuff is spot on with TF Oud wood. It and TF Oud Wood are twin brothers who have their just so slight unique quirks about them. Still trying to figure out which I like best. Carved Oud seems not as abrasive. More creamier. Definitely not picking up on any musk that the notes list.

I am a Roja lover, but I just don't like Midsummer one bit. I hate powder fragrances and this stuff is super powdery. All I get from it is baby powder. Take a bottle of baby powder and turn it into liquid and there you have Roja's A Midsummer Dream. I am sure there's more to it and I am sure others pick up other notes, but there's just too much baby powder in it for me to pick up on anything else. I still have 9 ml of my 10ml decant of it I've been thinking about tossing.

Silk mood - meh. Get a ton of lavendar. Strong at first then dies down. was told i smell like baby powder so might as well just throw it away lmao.
grand soir- really like this. sophisticated, sexy. only issue is longevity (?)
br540 - love it but alexandrias clone is better longevity/projection wise. br540 is more well crafted and enjoyable though.
aqua vitae - fresh and aquatic not overdone. Might be too strong initally for a hot summer day? but then it dies down.
Oud- this is nice well blended but not quite memorable for me. Almost like the perfect base but just needs something to hit home.
ciel de gum - weird scent. Minus the plastiques note its pretty enjoyable

overall: These are all well crafted scents but they drop off a literal cliff after a few hours. projection goes out the window and longevity isnt quite where id like them to be but might be asking too much for some of them. Wish that wasnt the case

strong this. before people fall down frag enthusiasm, most people go a whole year off one MAYBE two scents. you've got some gems there. a date night in 540 extrait, a daily driver in elysium, and potentially a signature/occasion scent in enigma. they're all arguably the best in each catagory too. sit on those for a month or two and see what you really think of them.

Anybody else try this stuff?

I have a small 3ml decant of Carved Oud now. Really enjoy it, and to be quite honest with you, just about everything Thameen makes it worth a sniff. great stuff.


As for Midsummer's Dream, it's a love or hate fragrance. Most people associate summer fragrances with bright freshies. Midsummer is almost "warm" due to the slightly powdery nature. It's not old grandma powder smelling, but there is a powder character. If anyone wants to test what this character is like at a cheaper price point i would suggest giving Chanel Boy a sniff.

If you give someone a hug or are having a face to face chat they'll get sillage, and for me that is plenty.

If you give someone a hug or are having a face to face chat they'll get sillage, and for me that is plenty.

Shouldve edited my post better first but I dont feel like im getting that arms length projection after a couple hours

Yah I think because I despise powdery scents, whenever my nose gets a whiff, it completely shuts down and doesn't pick up any other notes. I definitely don't get a "slight" powdery scent from Midsummer Dream. All I get is baby powder to the face. I took a break from it and I will go back to it in a few months and see if anything has changed.

Okay I'll just skip this one. I have one that smells baby powderish...ferragamo F black. It's okay but I don't love it. Also, I don't really want anything that's challenging. I enjoy the modern, pleasant and sexy scents.

I have the BR540 original and clone. I go anosmic to these fairly easily, my nose would barely smell it and then I get wafts many hours later, or people would smell on me while I thought it had died out. I guarantee you the original has just as good longevity and projection as the clone. If not better.

Edit: just saw the last line of your post...something's wrong with you bruh lol. I'm really impressed with MFK performance in his frags. Some of the best in the game imo.

Grand Soir longevity? WTF? I have never experienced a frag with more beastly longevity. I get a few days with this stuff. Yes, a few days! And thats just on my skin. I got some on my jacket once I still smelled it on there several weeks later. Grand Soir is the bar when it comes to longevity.
