    Skinny and hangry 2019 thread

Who’s in this year? I went from 228 in January 2017 to 185 by June of 2018. Now I’m back up to 214 after the holidays and months of eating hard. LOL

    Current: 214
    Goal: 175

    Currently 181.4

Want to get to low 170s or high 160s by early April...then maintenance.

Last year went from just under 190 in the start of April, to 163 in the first week of August. 163 was too scrawny. My deficit wont be as deep and as long, however next week I am going to give it a good kick start.... "the week of suffering" while my reset weights are still low where that wont be a problem.

    Good luck

Was down to 188 in June, up to 208 today after months of bulking and holiday / vacation eating. This year I'm trying something new with my cutting cycles and I'm going to do 4 weeks cutting / 2 weeks refeed instead of the 9/3 I used previously. I was having some trouble with getting sick mid-year after the end of my 2nd cycle and this plus some routine & macro changes I made I think should sort it out.

I go by jean size. Right now 32 is loose, 31 is tight. I'm bulking, so I expect 32 to get tighter by the time I'm done. Then I'll cut for the summer, and get down to a comfortable 30. I'll maintain there till fall, and then bulk up to a size 32 again.

I need to be in on this. Not actually sure of my current weight, but it is likely a bit north of 200. And I don't have a goal weight, I'd just like to work my way back to where I was. For those who remember me (and aren't on IS where I whined regularly, lol), I stopped lifting around Nov '17, was caregiver for my mom until she lost her battle with cancer in June '18, had to have surgery of my own a month after she passed, and had some nagging issues from that up until recently. I'm feeling good and beyond ready to get back in shape and get back to lifting. I've lost a ton of muscle, I've gained a lot of fat. And I need to reverse those two things

    So yeah. In.

Progress (or should I say compliance and self-discipline...) has been slow and even in reverse a little, although hit some speed bumps in life since Sept.
I'm naturally a smaller lightly muscled person, so adjust expectations of numbers downwards.
Down from 78 kg (172) and definitely a generous 34" waist in July to lowest reading of 70.5 Kg (155) and 34" stay up only with a belt at start of December, but then regressed over Christmas period to 72.7 Kg (160) now. Have some work to do in January

At 70.5 Kg waist I was still a bit flabby especially at the lurve handles, thinking the original target wasn't low enough and I should aim for 67Kg (147) instead of 70Kg (154)

In for following along! I got the leanest I ever have last year getting down to about 175 (depleted weight) from about 215. I decided after 6+ months and 40lbs of cutting I was done letting myself pick up as much fat. That means I’ve sacrificed some strength but I’ve been able to stay lean. In March it will be a full year with visible abs. I hit a high the day after Christmas of 198, but that was extremely bloated and I’m back down to 188 range now. I’m not sure how lean I’ll get this summer. I feel best Low to mid 180s which looks pretty lean. I’m changing my focus somewhat out of necessity lately and not focusing on intensity as much just due to some minor injuries I’ve been working around.

I’ll be restarting soon, currently getting over the flu but hoping to be better soon. Havnt trained since Sunday, doesn’t feel good, but it’s the longest rest I’ve had in a long time.

At present I am approx. 260, but at 6' 4" I can carry it off, apart from a bit of a belly.

I'm struggling to determine what my target weight should be, but am in the process of cutting as I want to lose fat.

As said above, I tend to go on jeans size, I'm 36" now but would love to be about 32.

I think that I need to just keep looking and monitoring myself, once I get to what I feel is right then I'll make a note of it and that will be my target weight.

I'm in ... goal is to get down between 10-12% bf, currently around 17% according to last DEXA scan (late November). Planning on doing another DEXA late January to see where I'm at in terms of fat and muscle. Have set myself a goal date of the 14th April which is the day before we go away for a family holiday to the Gold Coast theme parks here in Australia.

So, no better time than the present to start this cut. Thy shall be hangry!
    Cheers,
    Bill K

Cmon are you joining or what?...misery loves company.

FYI At 5'11" 179lbs my jean "size" is 32-34"...measure my waist at the navel, its just over 36"...this is the number I use as my main yard stick..just saying. Even When I dropped to 163lbs last August...was down to maybe 33" or lower at the navel...my jean size only went down a bit.

174.8lbs...!!Huge weight fluctuation. I had a drop of about 4-5 lbs in the last 24 hours! :O This must be some kind of dehydration thing brought on by playing hockey last nite. I have never weighed in the morning after a game. I wonder if its going to bounce back up by tomorrow morning? I was only working on about 1900 calories yesterday to begin with..I have no idea of how many cal. would be burned playing hockey for 55 minutes..Its usually 2-3 min shifts...then sit for 2-3 min.

Its at par in Watertown NY, maybe even in Lake Placid,

whatever the reason it jumped back up to 177.4 today, even though I consumed 2100 calories. I must have sweated it off, then absorbed/retained it back..

I can feel it echoing in here, not really sure what we are supposed to talk about here....shared misery perhaps?

Weigh in 178lbs today, but overall moving average from last couple of weeks is 176.9lbs (from the happy scale app...starting weight was around 181) So about 0.9lbs lost per week according to the app.

I cut out peanut butter and toast in the morning couple of days ago, one slice of this low calorie bread and two table spoons of PB adds up to 230 calories...with only like 11g or protein or so. I swapped it for 1 Skyr yogurt cup which is only 80 calories with 10g of protein, I also skip the usual morning banana and am going with a serving of raw veggies instead. The rest of the day I eat somewhat normally adding up to a total of about 1900 to 2100 calories. the weekends are a little bit higher...closer to maintenance which I think is around 2400.

I am also trying a vegan protein powder. It is also slightly lower in calories and protein..however it is more expensive. So far it is less...well...gassy, but has a strange after taste that hopefully I can get past.

No need to torture myself with any excessive cardio yet, I would love to go for walks, but I am just not a fan of winter anymore. Hockey and hitting the rowing machine should be good enough for now.

I'm feeling good and beyond ready to get back in shape and get back to lifting. I've lost a ton of muscle, I've gained a lot of fat. And I need to reverse those two things

    So yeah. In.
Sorry Wes, just saw this thread.

itsagoodday, I remember you writing about your Mom. My most sincere condolences. Hope you have recuperated from your surgery.

By the way, you have been inducted into the O35 Girls are Sexy AF Club. You qualified a long time ago, so no paperwork is required

For the first time in my life I am gaining weight - on purpose! I will join the group in May LOL.
Bodybuilding is much more than an hour in the gym a few days a week---it's a lifestyle that changes all your perceptions about how to live, eat, and rest. It feeds the mind as much (and sometimes more so) than the body.

Started my current cut back in September, 6'6" @230. As of this morning I'm at 214.6. I'm not sure what my target weight will be, I'll stop between 10 and 12% bf. Next time I won't bulk 19 lbs.

Thanks. Slow but steady is the goal. The bandwagon is hard for me too - I'm good most days as I cook and pack everything I eat. It's when people bring stuff in to work or my wife makes snacks is when I stumble.

Went full potato the last year. I reached 200.0 lbs on Jan 7th (when I started my diet). I am now down to 192 and looking to hit about 170 before the summer hits.
