Anyone have and use one? What do you think about them?
I am thinking about getting one.
I have tightness sometimes in low back(had a herniated disc a couple years ago) and also in hips when I squat heavy and also up in my upper spine near shoulders/neck. Tight up there too a lot of times.
I've read good things about the tables.

I have one. It feels pretty good like everything is going back where it's supposed to be. I have a lot of lumbar pain, and it's better when I do inversion...but I do other rehab exercises for it, too.

You are 100% correct, have done your proper research. I have a compressed disc, and arthritis in my lower back from years of rugby. I have to say it made a big difference and didnt take too long to notice it. The hardest part for me is the concentration and relaxing. You really need to focus on letting gravity pull and stretch you. Definately need to see a chiro though to get the main adjustments done and then the table will help maintain. I now use mine maybe once every other week off season and after every practice and game and no issues. Also good to note, hamstring flexibility will have a dramatic impact on the effectiveness of the table, as well as no standing toe touches. They compress the discs in the wrong direction. Keep us posted. Cheers

I've got one and use it every now and again.
I do see a chiropractor weekly and that has helped immensely. I had to find a good one though, some are quacks and certainly don't know anything about lifting.
My current chiropractor is a power lifter/rugby player and understands sports related issues. I've been seeing him for over a year now and since then I've not had any of the nagging issues I had with my lower back previously.
His recommendation about the inversion table was not to go to full inversion even if you have been using it for a long time. 45-50 degrees or until you feel the tension, and don't do the back twisting and pulling like the guy from the teeter-hangups commercial.

At an age as early as 17, I did have to put up with mild backpains due to a herniated disc too. Well, I say put up since I really wasn’t much of an outdoor kid. Anyways, to cut this short, my lower back wasn’t really strong and it was either painkillers or doing a couple of stretches daily.
Since shoving medicine down my gut really isn’t my thing, I opted for physical therapy and more specifically, inversion therapy is what worked best for me since over time, the pressure on my sciatic nerve was relieved from the consistent stretches. Yes, it did take some time and I did have to incorporate other kinds of stretches but it was definitely worth it in the end. Anyways, patience and consistency is all it takes.
