Okay, newbie lifter here, 19 years old (not 48) been training for 6 months on the following bro split routine:
Mon: chest/tris
tuesday:legs
wednesday: off
thursday:shoulders
friday: back/bis
I went from 165 to 185 pounds (bulked first 3 months,went well, now attempting recomp) and currently my max numbers have increased from
BENCH: 135 to 195
SQUAT: 185 to 275
DEADLIFT: 185 to 295
OHP: 95 to 135
With macros of around
2300 cals/day
190g protein
270g carbs
70g fat
80g sugar
I have looked into routines like alpha destiny's novice program, starting strength, and stronglifts 5x5, however I don't like how little focus there are on arms, and I am a bit turned off by working out 3 times a week. Working out 5 times a week has done wonders to my confidence and mental health, it's something I look forward to doing everyday. But if the bro split is that bad when it comes to progress and growth due to the lack of rest days, I am willing to make the change if it means that I will lift and grow substantially more than my current routine. If anyone has any routines to recommend I would greatly appreciate it.
