I highly recommend the reading the play; Fragile by Geoff Thompson.

It's a very dark play, it's one guy talking into a recorder alone, about his life and trying to heal from child sexual abuse.

Gave me a lot of insight into what it is like to be a survivor of child sexual abuse.

I've done it before. I really enjoy reading as much as a do, but if you pick the right 12 books you can get just as much value from really STUDYING a few worthy books.

There's just too much I want to read unfortunately heheh.

Then you've pretty much just limited yourself to self-help books and instruction manuals. How do you implement the Brothers Karamazov or the Count of Monte Cristo or Harry Potter? The point of reading isn't to "say you did it". You forget 99.5% of most things you do and study, that doesn't make it pointless. You can do it all you want but no need to disparage people for reading a lot.

In on this thread. I’ll try to read 12 this year.

Here’s the books I currently have, what’s your brah’s opinions on these ones?

    -Count of Monte Cristo
    - Picture of Dorian Gray
    - The Stand by Stephen King
    - Kafka on the Shore by Haruki Murakami

I’m already about halfway done with Monte Cristo, so I’ll finish that one in early January... feels like I’m cheating by getting a head start lol

The Picture of Dorian Gray was a quick and witty read. It's about the primal power of (male) beauty and attraction, and how it can corrupt its possessor. Lots of quotable passages. You won't go wrong with it.

The Stand was a nice read but it wasn't memorable to me.

    Haven't read the other two.

Here is my list so far. I already have most of these, as even though I had stopped reading regularly it didn't curtail my habit of adding interesting books to my amazon cart or adding one or two to an order I was already making.
Just started an audible membership as well, so I can listen to audiobooks while at work/the gym to help reach that goal. FYI They have a student discount and the monthly rate is only $9.95 for anyone who might be interested.

Your Money or Your Life- Vicki Robin and Joe Dominguez
Stranger in a Strange Land- Robert Heinlein
    The Alchemist- Paulo Coelho
Presenting to Win: The Art of Telling Your Story- Jerry Weissman
She Comes First: The Thinking Man's Guide to Pleasuring a Woman- Ian Kerner
    The Republic- Plato
Urban Aboriginals: A Celebration of Leathersexuality- Geoff Mains
Principles: Life and Work- Ray Dalio
Tribe: On Homecoming and Belonging- Sebastian Junger
The Essential Writings of Ralph Waldo Emerson- Ralph Waldo Emerson
    The Last Lecture- Randy Pausch
Linchpin: Are You Indispensable?- Seth Godin
    Assassin's Apprentice- Robin Hobb
The Road to Character- David Brooks
    Sacred Pain- Ariel Glucklich
The Essential Rumi- Jalal al-Din Rumi
The Sacred and The Profane: The Nature of Religion- Mircea Eliade
    King Lear- William Shakespeare
Long Story Short: The Only Storytelling Guide You'll Ever Need- Margot Leitman

    Audible:
Think and Grow Rich- Napoleon Hill
Sex at Dawn- Christopher Ryan and Cacilda Jetha
7 Habits of Highly Effective People- Stephen Covey

How does reading the Bible work? Can I count each book as a single book or do I have to finish the entire Bible to count as one?

Goal was 25 last year and I hit 26. This year I have several other goals so I initially wanted to lower my goal to 20 but I will probably keep it at 25. I feel like I'll be able to hit it using audio books as a huge tool for my commutes and travel. I'm planning a wedding this year and also purchasing a house while also still in the early stages of my new career and also training for a power lifting show. So I have a lot on my plate but I really think I'm gonna be able to hit all these goals. I've got my first 4-5 books picked out and started a little on them.
