Any tips on hiking new routes? Apparently there are some GOAT ones around where I live (Edinburgh) but no idea where to get started lol.

When it gets to 4pm or later and you don’t know how much further the trail goes start heading back the way you came so you make it back before sunset. Always take your phone for gps tracking, it’s a good idea to mark on your maps (phone) where you started or where you parked your car, besides if it’s a good trail and you want to go back you can make it a favourite. of course if you’re somewhere you can’t get reception this is all useless info, lol.

Get yourself some wireless Bluetooth headphones to listen to spotify on your walks.

Whenever you see bridges or wooden walkways or a body of water, snap a pic, these things make for some of the best pictures. Ppl have told me I should be a nature photographer.

Thanks, our sunsets are pretty early these days lol so that's probs a good idea. I always have my phone on me anyway for safety, would you recommend a physical map as well too? I'm bad with routes so the last thing I'd want is to get lost :P It's hard to do so in British countryside though.

I never use a physical map but definitely pay attention to the route you do choose and if there’s multiple paths choose a way you will remember or a lot of times they will have different paths marked with different colours on the trees, stick to one colour. If they have a map at the beginning of a trail take a picture of it. I almost got lost in Tobermory once lol, that’s because I left the path and just went on my own way, wasn’t a good idea but luckily I have a pretty good natural compass (sense of direction). Got out right when it got dark too, 10 minutes later there would have been no light. Too much curiosity in me

Today I am grateful for...

Couldn't get my car up my icy driveway yesterday, but luckily a neighbor had some kind of garden tool that lifted the ice off easily.

Central heating that works

Tried to drive to work today after it snowed yesterday. Backed out of my driveway and then tried to climb back up, but my car got stuck. I said "Nah, I'm good brah" and stayed home. Thankful I didn't decide to drive and get stuck somewhere else!

- My colleagues are super nice, I've had two reach out to our director to express how impressed they were with the work I've been doing. Grateful for finding this job and be given opportunities I've always dreamed of having.
- My parents both got vaccinated and are healthy/happy.
- I'm moving soon and I'm super excited about the change in scenary!

2. Won a $250 raffle item with a $10 entry chance.
3. Got a group of repeat renters coming in 3 days to help restart the refinery in my town. (Cold weather shut it down, pipes froze and burst, where there is chaos there is cash)
